Deadly Inheritance

Early in the morning, a crossing guard mistakenly switches the train points due to a malfunctioning hearing aid, causing a scheduled train to be diverted to the end of the line. This mishap sets the stage for later events involving death and suspicion. The incident appears to be an accident but subtly hints at the impending trouble.

Oscar, an old man, is killed when he's run over by a train, an event believed to be accidental. His death triggers the reading of his will, which states his heirs must wait until the youngest, Janot, turns 21 to access the estate. The mysterious circumstances of his death raise suspicion about foul play.

It is revealed that despite previous reckless speculation, Oscar's money is still in his bank account, amounting to a substantial sum. This discovery hints at hidden motives behind the deaths and reveals a potential financial motive for the murders.

Janot, the youngest heir, is also killed in a staged 'accident' when he is dismembered by a train. His death consolidates the suspicion that someone is systematically eliminating the heirs to secure Oscar's inheritance.

Garrani, a suspect, goes on the run but is cornered on a rooftop. He leaps to his death after being accused and chased by the police, attempting to escape justice for the murders. His death marks a significant twist in the investigation.

Simone inherits the estate following the deaths of her relatives. However, she begins to suspect Janot, who unexpectedly attacks her, revealing he faked Oscar's death to manipulate the inheritance. Her suspicions deepen as secrets unravel.

Janot confesses to staging Oscar's death and reveals he was behind the murders to accelerate his inheritance. He also admits he killed Jules to prevent betrayal and blackmail, exposing his sinister motives.

Policeman Etienne arrives, overhears the truth, and forces Janot to write postcards to feign travel plans. He then intervenes during a confrontation, shooting Janot when he attempts to kill Simone, leading to Janot’s death.

Gerard tries to escape after Janot’s death but is confronted by Etienne and Simone. He pleads for Simone to shoot Etienne, but when she shoots Gerard instead, he succumbs to his injuries, ending his manipulative schemes.

With the killer neutralized, Etienne and Simone walk away into the night, finally free from danger. The mystery of Oscar's death and the murders is resolved, with justice served for the orchestrated killings.
