Kaya is a young woman in her early twenties who has lived a full life but now spends her days caring for her father and brother after her mother's disappearance at sea. She reflects on how her life changed following her mother's death and how her father became overwhelmed with grief. Her close friendship with Tessa is a significant part of her life, offering her emotional support and companionship.

Tessa invites Kaya to join her, Julian, and Xander for a spontaneous jet-skiing and surfing trip to a nearby island. Kaya initially hesitates due to curfew but agrees when Tessa encourages her to be spontaneous and embrace living in the moment. The group sets out for their adventurous day, leaving behind their daily routines.

The group reaches the island, where they enjoy swimming in clear waters, sharing personal stories about their lives. Kaya discusses her experiences after her mother's death and her family's struggles, while Tessa talks about her strained relationship with her father. The friends bond over their shared moments of joy and vulnerability.

During their time on the island, Kaya develops a new friendship with Xander and ends up sharing a romantic kiss. The group feels carefree and happy, relishing the spontaneous adventure that temporarily takes their minds off personal struggles. The day seems perfect until tragedy strikes.

A tragic accident occurs when Julian is involved in a crash that results in his death. The jet-skis sink to the bottom of the ocean, destroying their equipment. The group's joyous outing turns into a nightmare with the loss of Julian and the destruction of their watercraft.

Kaya and Tessa realize they cannot reach help because their phones and walkie-talkies are submerged, and the ocean is shark-infested. Fortunately, a passing boat hears their shouts, and they are rescued from the water. They are taken aboard the boat owned by Rey, a local fisherman.

Rey, initially appearing to help, reveals himself as a villain when he knocks Kaya unconscious with chloroform and traps her and Tessa below deck. Evidence such as bloodstains and carved 'help' signs indicate they are not the first victims. Rey is revealed to be a human trafficker involved in organ smuggling.

Kaya and Tessa learn that Curtis Hunt, a middle-aged man visiting the boat, is an organ trafficker who sells harvested organs to wealthy clients. Curtis explains that he is searching for an organ donor, highlighting the sinister purpose behind their captivity. Curtis plans to remove their organs for lucrative sale.

Kaya manages to break out of the cabin, rescue Tessa, and fights Curtis. She shoots Curtis in the gut with a fishing hook, causing him injury. Kaya then attempts to make a distress call but initially fails, prompting her to take further action to escape and seek help.

Kaya sabotages Rey's boat to prevent him from pursuing them. She then makes a new distress call, connecting with a woman who guides her to activate a GPS beacon. Rey arrives and stabs Kaya, but she fights back by firing a flare and tossing the beacon into the ocean to summon help.

A police boat locates Curtis’s yacht and rescues Kaya, taking her to the hospital for treatment. Remarkably, Tessa is also found alive, clutching a floating ring. Their ordeal ends with their rescue and the hope for justice against the traffickers.
