In the wake of Douglas's death, the announcement for the second Dead or Alive World Combat Championship sparked widespread intrigue and anxiety. The tournament’s importance had shifted, now overshadowed by treachery and corruption as the world grappled with the fallout of Douglas's demise.

Hayate, Kasumi's brother, faced his own nightmare as he was captured and subjected to brutal bio-weapon experiments by DOATEC. Despite the serious modifications made to his nervous system, the experiment ultimately failed, leaving him in a precarious state.

Drawn into the chaos created by the tournament, Ryu Hayabusa sets out to confront the evil Tengu and restore balance. With unwavering resolve, he takes it upon himself to enlighten other competitors about the dangers lurking within the tournament.

During the tournament, Ryu encounters a fighter named Ein, who is unknowingly Hayate suffering from amnesia. After a fierce battle, Hayabusa emerges victorious and succeeds in awakening fragments of Hayate's lost memories, unraveling the puzzle of his past.
