Dasara

The final act of Dasara erupts on the night of the Dasara festival. Dharani, having secretly forged a cache of weapons, hides them beneath the spot where the effigy of Ravana will be set ablaze. When the rival gang led by Chinna Nambi makes the first violent move, Dharani and his friends unleash the hidden arms, cutting down every goon in sight. In a brutal, almost mythic tableau, Dharani confronts Chinna Nambi, severs his head just as the police rush in, and, despite their attempt to arrest him, manages to flee the scene. The murder lands him in a seven‑year prison sentence.

After serving his time, Dharani returns to Veerlapally with a single purpose: to destroy the Silk Bar that has long been the village’s hub of caste‑based oppression and the source of its rampant alcoholism. He sets the bar aflame, watching the building turn to ash as a symbolic end to the cycle of exploitation. Vennela, who has waited all those years, runs to him and embraces him, closing the film on a note of personal reunion even as the credits roll.
