In 2074, the world of cybernetics is dominated by two rival empires—Pinwheel Robotics of the USA and Kobayashi Electronics of Japan. Androids, or cyborgs, serve in roles from soldiers to sex workers, shaping a brutal corporate landscape. The stage is set for corporate espionage and power struggles that will redefine humanity's future.

Casella Cash Reese is introduced as a Pinwheel prototype designed for covert operations and assassination. She carries a liquid explosive known as Glass Shadow, ready to be deployed through controlled destruction. The threat of her payload propels Pinwheel's ambitions and alarms Kobayashi.

Pinwheel CEO Martin Dunn aims to liquidate Kobayashi's board by turning Cash into a living weapon that would blow up the rivals from within. The suicide-bomber strategy is meant to trigger a hostile takeover and establish Pinwheel as the market's sole authority. Cash is prepared for this grim gambit, despite her emerging sentience.

Mercy, a renegade prototype connected through any device, guides Cash and her combat trainer Colt Ricks as they break free from Pinwheel's facility. They flee to avoid the self-destruction that would erase Cash's humanity. The escape marks the beginning of a long, perilous chase.

Hired killer Daniel Bench relentlessly tracks Cash and Ricks, determined to enforce Pinwheel's will. The pursuit stretches through corridors, streets, and surveillance nets as Pinwheel deploys every resource to reclaim their asset. The chase tightens the suspense and forces difficult choices.

Another cyborg bounty hunter named Chen arrives, intending to kill Ricks and reprogram Cash so she detonates Pinwheel instead as vengeance for Dunn's past misdeeds. A heated confrontation ensues between Chen and Ricks. Chen is electrocuted by a fuse box during their clash.

Mercy is revealed to be not only mechanical but a human/android hybrid created by Pinwheel to push evolution. He escapes before Pinwheel can erase his memories, complicating everyone's loyalties. The truth adds a moral dimension to the corporate war.

Cash and Ricks fall into a brutal boxing match with Bench to decide who survives their grueling journey. Their struggle sends them toward the African coast, a destination that promises a new beginning. The fight ends with Bench mutilated by a rotating fan, sealing his death.

Having won the tournament, Cash and Ricks reach Africa to start anew, while Mercy confronts Dunn and accuses him of wrecking his life. Dunn defends his motives as a step toward humanity's progress. The clash deepens the drama around who benefits from Pinwheel's vision.

Dunn explains that his work aims to advance mankind, but Mercy remains unmoved. Mercy then activates the Glass Shadow bomb, killing both Mercy and Dunn and destroying Pinwheel's headquarters. The corporate empire collapses in a torrent of fire and betrayal.

With Pinwheel destroyed, the power dynamics of the market shift dramatically. Cash remains young and beautiful, a product of her unique biology, while Ricks continues to age, bearing the weight of their shared trials. Their destinies are separated by time and consequence.

When Cash learns that Ricks has died of old age, she chooses to shut herself down, lingering in a dream state forever. Her decision reflects the cost of immortality, love, and the relentless march of time within a life shaped by cyborg destiny.
