Sub-Inspector Joseph Pinto discovers that Jai Dixit is the foster son of a re-formed gangster and arranges his relocation to Melbourne. Jai's biological father was involved in mafia activities related to Mumbai blasts and intended to reveal the mafia chain before being killed. Pinto adopts Jai, leading to Jai's deep mistrust of the police and gangster ties.

Jai is moved to Melbourne and begins a new life, working as a taxi-driver under the name Suraj Bhardwaj. Goldie provides him support with a place to stay and food as he tries to settle into his new environment. He starts to build a new life away from his troubled past.

Jai develops feelings for Suhani, much to the disapproval of her brother Samarth, who wants her to marry Romi. Jai witnesses a racially motivated hate crime at a shop and intervenes, which complicates his position in the city.

Jai saves a group of Pakistanis from Australian attackers during a racial attack, showing his readiness to help despite his desire to stay low. He also hides in a car owned by Nicole, the sister of one of the assailants, after the incident.

Racial attacks against Indian students escalate, prompting protests. Jai's friend Romi celebrates India’s cricket victory, which leads to racial heckling, and Samarth protests against the discrimination, further straining relationships.

Jai chooses not to participate in protests due to fears of deportation and his promise to Pinto. Samarth dislikes Jai for his passive stance and the growing closeness between Jai and Suhani, resulting in physical altercations and Jai drinking alcohol to cope.

The protests turn violent, leading to Samarth’s arrest. Jai witnesses Suhani's disappointment in his refusal to help and chooses to stay distant, refusing her plea for assistance in the aftermath.

On the day Samarth is to be discharged from the hospital, Jai decides to intervene after Nicole warns him of a planned attack. He successfully helps save Samarth, showing his willingness to fight for his loved ones.

Jai finds out that Russell is trying to kill Samarth and discovers a corrupt cop aiding Russell. He learns that his police record links him to mafia roots, making him a target for the Melbourne police as he becomes a fugitive.

Jai confronts Samarth, who is trying to kill Nicole and continues his spree of violence against mixed-race couples due to past trauma involving Sheena. Jai witnesses Samarth’s obsession and his dangerous mental state following Sheena’s death.

Jai fights to stop Samarth from killing Nicole. Samarth shoots Jai, refusing to listen to logic, but Romi intervenes and kills Samarth, ending his murderous rampage. The police and Suhani arrive amidst the chaos.

With Samarth dead and the immediate threat over, Jai is freed from the police and reunites with Suhani. Their relationship is restored as they face a future beyond the violence and turmoil.
