Jai Dixit, played by Emraan Hashmi, is the son of a former gangster whose life is shaped by a complex past filled with crime, betrayal, and tragedy. After his father’s confession about illegal arms shipments involved in the Mumbai blasts, Jai’s foster Joseph Pinto, portrayed by Gulshan Grover, arranges for Jai to be relocated to Melbourne, where he adopts the name Suraj Bhardwaj. This move is meant to keep Jai safe from the dangerous mafia ties that curse his family history, but it does little to erase the shadows of his past.

In Melbourne, Jai finds work as a taxi driver, reunited with a kind-hearted friend named Goldie, who offers him shelter and a chance to start anew. As Jai navigates his new life, he becomes smitten with a girl named Suhani, played by Neha Sharma, much to the disapproval of her protective brother, Samarth, played by Arjan Bajwa. Samarth, deeply suspicious of Jai, is wary of his influence over Suhani and the potential threat he poses.

Jai’s peaceful existence is disrupted when he witnesses a racially motivated attack on a Pakistani shopkeeper involving a group of Australian assailants. He intervenes heroically, saving lives despite the risk involved, and narrowly escapes the police, hiding in the car of Nicole (‘Nikki’), played by Shella Alan. It is then revealed that Nicole is the sister of Russell, an aggressive thug played by Francis Chouler, who is quick to threaten Jai following his rescue.

Meanwhile, tensions escalate locally due to increasing incidents of racial violence targeting Indian immigrants and students. Suhani openly discusses these issues on a radio help line, expressing her concerns about the rising hate crimes. The hostility culminates on the beaches during a celebration of India beating Australia in cricket, where Romi Latti, played by Kavin Dave, faces harassment from Australians, and Samarth steps in to defend him. This act draws Russell’s attention to Samarth, intensifying the conflict and ongoing racial tensions.

Jai, adhering to the promise made to Joseph Pinto to avoid trouble, chooses to stay on the sidelines during the protests, even as racial violence intensifies. However, the situation worsens when Romi is severely beaten, and Jai’s reluctance to get involved leaves Suhani disappointed. Tensions grow within their circle, especially with Samarth opposing Jai and the growing closeness between Jai and Suhani. Despite warnings from Goldie to stay away from activism, Jai finds himself increasingly dragged into the chaos.

After a violent protest that results in Samarth’s arrest, Suhani seeks Jai’s help, but he initially refuses, feeling it’s not his battle. The stakes become personal when Nicole warns Jai that Russell plans to murder Samarth. Driven by a sense of duty and justice, Jai intervenes and manages to save Samarth in a tense hospital showdown, even as Russell closes in.

As the story unfolds, Jai uncovers shocking truths—Samarth once caused Andy’s sister Sheena, who was pregnant with Russell’s child, to have an abortion against her will. Tragically, Sheena died, and Russell’s vendetta against Indians grew from this pain. Samarth, overwhelmed by grief and rage, embarked on a killing spree targeting mixed-race couples, a campaign of violence fueled by his own trauma and hatred.

When Russell tries to attack Suhani, Jai risks everything to stop him. During this confrontation, Jai finds himself shot by Samarth, who becomes unhinged and violent. Jai’s plea to halt the cycle of violence goes unheard as Samarth continues his rampage until Romi intervenes and kills him. The police arrive as the chaos subsides, and Suhani, along with Jai, finally unite after the tumultuous series of events.

Throughout this harrowing journey, Jai confronts his past, fights against racial hatred, and seeks to protect those he cares about. His struggles highlight themes of reconciliation, justice, and the importance of breaking free from cycles of violence—ultimately, finding hope and love amid chaos.
