Color Me Blood Red

Mr. Farnsworth visits Adam at his beachside house to discuss his work. The visit ends abruptly when Adam smashes one of his paintings in a fit of anger, signaling his volatile temperament. Farnsworth leaves, unaware of the creative crisis simmering behind the artist.

While tidying the shattered painting, Gigi cuts her finger on a nail and blood stains the canvas. Adam interprets the new red hue as the color he'd been chasing. He becomes fixated on using blood as pigment for his art.

Adam persuades Gigi to spill more blood from her wound, starting a new painting with the pigment. His obsession with the red color intensifies, driving him to feverish work. The studio becomes a chamber of escalating risk.

To replenish his supply of blood for painting, Adam cuts his own fingers with a razorblade. He keeps painting through the pain, pushing his body toward collapse. He eventually faints, collapsing from anemia.

The next day, Gigi scolds Adam for using blood in his art and for coercing Farnsworth into praising an unfinished painting. She warns him about the hollowness and danger of his obsession. He remains consumed by the work as their conflict deepens.

In a frenzy, Adam stabs Gigi with a painting knife, killing her. He then uses her blood to complete the canvas, sealing the creation with blood and violence. The murder marks a brutal turning point in his life and art.

The next morning, Adam unveils the finished painting to Farnsworth at the gallery. Art critic Gregorovich, who had doubted him, praises the work as a masterpiece and asks for another painting. The praise fuels Adam’s belief that his art justifies his crimes.

Following the praise, Adam heads to the beach and murders a couple who ride hydrocycles. He drains their blood to fuel a new painting and continues working feverishly. He plans to exhibit this new work the next day.

April Carter recognizes Adam on the beach and tells him her mother wants one of his paintings. He proposes that she pose as a model, offering a free painting for her mother if she agrees. April agrees, stepping into a dangerous arrangement.

Inside, Adam ties April's wrists to a rope hanging from a ceiling beam to secure the pose. He insists the setup will help her hold the pose for the painting. April's fear grows as he demonstrates his controlling power.

Jack and Sydney discover Gigi's decomposing body buried in the sand, shocking the community. Rolf goes to Adam's house to report the danger and call for help. The investigation tightens around Adam as the clock ticks.

Rolf arrives as Adam prepares to kill April with an axe, triggering a fierce struggle. He grabs a shotgun from the mantle and shoots Adam in the face, ending his immediate threat. The scene shifts to the aftermath as other figures deal with the wreckage.

Farnsworth burns one of Adam's paintings, which bleeds as it burns. The bleeding canvas lingers as a symbol of the artist's violent legacy. The film closes on a chilling note about art fueled by blood and murder.
