In Hong Kong, DEA man Fletcher [Ernest Borgnine] heads an operation to cut off the opium supply to the West; to fund this mission he has allied with wealthy American Brenner [Hartmut Neugebauer], and Brenner’s partnership brings in ex-mercenary Charlton [Klaus Kinski]. They recruit Robin Wesley [Lewis Collins], a father who is still grieving over his dead heroin-addicted son, to lead a multinational team of mercenaries. Wesley’s group is made up of fighters from around the globe, each with a hard-won past, and their assignment is clear: disrupt the heroin trade in the volatile Golden Triangle. The plan hinges on speed, stealth, and ruthless efficiency, as the operation depends on news from their distant base in Hong Kong to stay one step ahead of every danger.

Wesley’s crew includes combat veterans like Archie ‘China’ Travers [Lee Van Cleef] and Klein [Manfred Lehmann], men whose checkered histories echo the murky morality of the mission. While Fletcher, Brenner, and Charlton stay behind, watching the mission unfold from afar, Wesley’s team forms a bridge between nations and timelines—a testament to the international scope of the operation and the personal stakes carried by each mercenary. The journey begins with a river crossing into the Golden Triangle, a tense voyage that tests loyalties and nerves as the group moves closer to their targets. When the convoy reaches land, the mercenaries disembark and resume their march through dense jungle, guided by Kim and his guerrilla fighters who know these lands all too well.

The expedition culminates at a remote base carved into a quarry, a fortress-like complex hidden among limestone and dust. Arbib [Thomas Danneberg] drops into the sleeping quarters hut, where he confronts and eliminates the occupants who try to defend themselves. The next phase shifts to a forward push toward the opium manufacturing depot.
