Close Your Eyes and Hold Me

Amane hits a woman with his car while driving. She is taken to the hospital and recovers, but he feels deep guilt. He offers to repay her for the accident, but she disappears from the hospital, leaving him haunted by what happened.

While seeking answers about the accident, Amane encounters Hanabusa in a nightclub for newhalves and learns she is a pre-operative trans woman. He is initially revolted, but ends up spending the night with her.

Amane and Hanabusa have sex that night and she teaches him how to be a better partner in bed. As their connection deepens, Amane ends his relationship with Juri and falls in love with Hanabusa.

Juri confronts Hanabusa and ends up having sex with her that night. Later, Juri also has sex with Takayanagi, Amane's co-worker.

Takayanagi tells Amane that he slept with Juri and suggests they reconcile. Amane tells him that it is best not to see Juri or Hanabusa, but inside he is deeply depressed and lonely.

On the way to Amane's hometown, Amane asks Hanabusa to meet his family. Hanabusa refuses and suggests breaking up. They argue in the car, and Amane accuses her of having no place in his life.

They sit in silence after the argument. Amane admits he is lonely and deeply in love, while Hanabusa remains distant and unwilling to continue the relationship.

The next morning Hanabusa finds Amane sitting in the snow and returns the heel from her shoe. She stops him from driving away, and they decide to be lovers again.

Juri's period is late, which she uses to pressure Amane to marry her. Amane and Hanabusa doubt her claim and become suspicious. Juri leaves in anger.

Juri leaves a voicemail threatening to commit suicide by drug overdose, blaming Amane for leaving her and begging him to return.

Hanabusa and Amane visit Juri in the hospital, where she lies comatose. Amane says that this is the end, while Hanabusa counters that it is not the end but the beginning.

The closing moment leaves their relationship in an ambiguous state, suggesting that the future may be both the end of a chapter and the start of something new.
