The evidence links the gun to Kyle in a way that forces him to confront his own involvement in the case. Kyle is suspended and ordered to surrender his weapon, a move that leaves him feeling exposed and hunted. Adele’s role surfaces as well, with Lamar paying her for her part and promising more money once the scheme yields its full payoff.

Tensions escalate when Kyle discovers a dashboard compass visible in one of the incriminating photos. The compass belongs to Lamar, a detail that tightens the noose around the corrupt scheme and nudges Kyle toward the truth that Lamar has manipulated the entire murder plot to secure Rupert’s fortune—and to cast Kyle as the fall guy. Adele’s loyalty wavers as she contemplates her own safety, and she confirms that Lamar intends to pay her off in full after he secures his share.

Confrontation comes to a head at a bar where Kyle finally presses Lamar for answers.
