Dr. Saravanan visits India on vacation and reconnects with his foster brother Senthilnathan and Senthil's wife Ganga. He agrees to help Senthil settle into his new life while navigating the hidden tensions within the family. The encounter sets the stage for the mansion's eerie chapter to begin.

Senthilnathan purchases the ancient Vettaiyapuram mansion and the couple moves in with their family, despite warnings from local elders. The opulent estate becomes the focal point of growing jealousy and fear within the household. The new occupants brace for the strange happenings to come.

Akhilandeshwari grows jealous of Saravanan and schemes to remove him with her assistant Oomaiyan. Her machinations set the stage for violent confrontations inside the mansion. The plan introduces the human threat that accompanies the mansion's supernatural mystery.

During a temple visit, the chief priest explains why the Vettaiyapuram mansion is feared. He hints at a long-buried tragedy connected to the palace and its residents. The revelation primes the family for the legend that dominates the estate.

Fifteen hundred years ago, King Vettaiyan abducts his beloved Chandramukhi and forcibly takes her to his palace. Chandramukhi secretly meets Gunashekaran, who is kept nearby, and the two lovers plan their escape. When Vettaiyan discovers this, he beheads Gunashekaran and burns Chandramukhi alive, triggering a vengeful spirit. The resulting tragedy explains why the palace is haunted to this day.

Chandramukhi's ghost continues to haunt the south-west room of the palace to take revenge on the king. The legend grows as villagers tell stories of cold drafts, whispers, and ominous signs tied to the room. The haunting is the emotional anchor of the mansion's fear factor.

Back in the present, Ganga suspects the legend is a fabrication designed to scare away thieves. Her curiosity drives her to explore the forbidden room, aided by Durga, the gardener's granddaughter, who lends her the key. The moment the door opens, strange events begin to ripple through the house.

The mansion is rocked by inexplicable phenomena: objects break, Ganga's sari catches fire, and a mysterious night voice fills the air. Priya becomes a target as the unseen forces seem to fixate on her safety. Senthil contacts Saravanan to investigate and stop the escalating danger.

During Priya and Viswanathan's wedding reception, Ganga vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Saravanan searches for her and narrowly escapes an attack by Oomaiyan, who has been sent by Akhilandeshwari. The disappearance marks a dramatic turning point in the haunting case.

Upon return, Saravanan reveals that Ganga suffers from split personality and has assumed Chandramukhi's identity. He explains how she attempted to kill Priya and Senthil to frame Viswanathan, linking him to Gunashekaran in Chandramukhi's eyes. The revelation reframes the events as a psychological condition rather than mere supernatural activity.

Akhilandeshwari overhears Saravanan's plan of self-sacrifice and apologizes, signaling a shift toward resolution. She agrees to support the plan and seeks to end the haunting without further bloodshed. The family begins to unite to confront the spirit together.

In the dance hall, Ramachandra Acharya and the family perform the exorcism. They coax Chandramukhi to burn Saravanan alive by stirring fear; smoke and ash are blown on Ganga's face as part of the ritual, and Senthil opens a trapdoor to save Saravanan, while an effigy of Vettaiyan burns in the chaos.

Convinced that Vettaiyan is dead, Chandramukhi leaves Ganga's body, ending the possession. Ganga is freed from the split personality, and the immediate danger subsides as the families begin to reconcile after thirty years. The relief allows the next chapter of their lives to unfold.

With the haunting resolved, the families are reunited after thirty years. Saravanan and Durga's romance blossoms, and eight years later Swarna and Murugesan welcome a child, signaling a hopeful future for the Vettaiyapuram clan.
