Chandramukhi

Dr. Saravanan visits India on vacation and reconnects with his foster brother Senthilnathan and Senthil's wife Ganga. He moves in with them to the Vettaiyapuram mansion after Senthil buys it, despite objections from village elders. This sets the stage for the eerie happenings to come.

Kasthuri, Senthil's mother, pushes Senthil to marry Priya, the daughter of Kandaswamy, to reunite the family after a 30-year separation caused by Senthil's father choosing Kasthuri over Akhilandeshwari. Saravanan becomes aware of this plan and supports the arrangement as a path to harmony. The arrangement threads the family tensions into the mansion's future.

During a temple visit, the chief priest explains why the Vettaiyapuram mansion is feared. He recounts the 150-year-old tragedy: King Vettaiyan abducts Chandramukhi and Gunashekaran is beheaded, followed by Chandramukhi being burned. Chandramukhi's ghost is said to haunt the southwest room, seeking revenge.

Meanwhile, Vishwanathan, a dance professor, and Priya are in love, and Saravanan urges Kandaswamy to arrange their marriage. He helps push the couple toward union, seeing the personal stakes beyond the mansion's curse. The romantic thread adds to the tensions around the haunted house.

Ganga, eager to test the legend, obtains the room key from the gardener's granddaughter, Durga. She opens the south-west room to explore, despite warnings. Soon after, strange phenomena begin around the mansion.

A ghost frightens the residents, objects break, and Ganga's sari catches fire, intensifying the fear. Suspicion falls on Durga, the gardener's granddaughter, as the source of the disturbances. The mansion grows increasingly unstable as the supernatural activity intensifies.

Senthil calls Saravanan to investigate the disturbances, and he begins pursuing the truth behind the haunting. A mysterious voice is heard singing at night, deepening the mystery. The investigators piece together the supernatural pattern.

Ganga vanishes during Priya and Vishwanathan's wedding reception, prompting a frantic search. Saravanan is drawn into danger when Oomaiyan, Akhilandeshwari's henchman, attacks him, but he subdues the assailant and locates Ganga.

Saravanan explains to Senthil and Viswanathan that Ganga suffers from a split personality and has taken Chandramukhi's identity. She has tried to kill Priya and Senthil to frame Viswanathan, who stands in for Gunashekaran. The explanation ties the present hauntings to the ancient tragedy.

Akhilandeshwari overhears Saravanan's plan of self-sacrifice and apologizes, signaling a shift in loyalties. She supports Saravanan's idea to make Chandramukhi believe Saravanan is dead, a key tactic to break the spirit's hold.

In the dance hall, Ramachandra Acharya and the family enact a ritual while Chandramukhi is allowed to burn Saravanan alive. Ramachandra Acharya covers Ganga's face with smoke as she holds a torch. Senthil opens a trapdoor to help Saravanan escape, and the effigy of Vettaiyan burns instead; Chandramukhi departs from Ganga's body, curing her.

With the haunting resolved, the two families are reunited after 30 years. Saravanan and Durga fall in love, and Swarna and Murugesan become parents eight years later, signaling a peaceful ending for the mansion. The story closes on a note of lasting harmony.
