Basthi Balaraju Kartikeya Gummakonda is a funeral vehicle driver in Vizag who shares a small, sturdy life with his mother, Gangamma, and his bed-ridden father. The routine calm of their coastal town is jolted when he is called to collect Peter’s body and drive him to the cemetery. At Peter’s house, he encounters Mallika Lavanya Tripathi, and through a surprising twist of fate, learns that Peter was Mallika’s husband. Undeterred, Basthi Balaraju embraces a bold feeling and resolves to love Mallika, hoping to become her new life partner. He makes a heartfelt push to help Mallika move on and to choose him as her husband, a move that stirs trouble with Mallika’s father-in-law, Sekhar Samuel, who resents the intrusion into their family dynamics.

As this emotional maze unfolds, Basthi Balaraju uncovers a deeper, more personal truth: his mother is entangled in an ongoing affair with Mohan, a man who has long harbored love for Gangamma. Yet Gangamma never accepted Mohan’s advances, and the two have remained in a complicated state of friendship. After a heated confrontation with Mohan, Basthi Balaraju begins to grasp the weight of his mother’s loneliness and the need for companionship. He learns that Gangamma has yearned for someone to share her life with, especially since her husband has been bedridden since Basthi Balaraju’s birth. This revelation softens Basthi Balaraju’s heart, and he undergoes a transformation, recognizing and re-evaluating the sacrifices his mother has quietly endured.

Moved by these revelations, Basthi Balaraju decides to help bring Gangamma and Mohan together in hopes of giving his mother a partner who truly understands her. At the same time, Mallika’s feelings for him endure, and she begins to reciprocate, setting the stage for a complicated but hopeful union. Yet life throws another wrench: Mallika receives a marriage proposal from someone else, forcing her to tell Basthi Balaraju that she must marry another man. The news lands hard, and when Mallika finds Basthi Balaraju at the hospital, the tension peaks as tragedy strikes—Gangamma is admitted after a serious accident and, due to heavy blood loss, she dies.

The loss shakes Basthi Balaraju to his core, sending him into a deep, consuming depression. In the aftermath, Mohan steps up to support both Basthi Balaraju and his father, while Basthi Balaraju returns to his mother’s seaside corn stand to keep life moving, even as grief laces every moment with pain. As Mallika’s marriage plans press forward, Basthi Balaraju gathers his courage to confront Sekhar Samuel and lay bare the depth of his love for Mallika. Sekhar Samuel, moved by the earnestness of his plea, intervenes in the wedding to prevent a rushed union and to seek a more thoughtful resolution. In a culminating turn, Sekhar Samuel reunites Basthi Balaraju with Mallika, guiding them toward a life together as they finally seal their bond and begin a new chapter.
