The film unfolds as an autobiographical narrative voiced by Luv Kumar, inviting the viewer into his inner world and memories. It begins with a tale of his parents, who fell in love and married across linguistic boundaries, a union that underlines the movie’s themes of connection and difference. In the present, the warmth of that past relationship has cooled. Luv’s father, busy with the rhythm of daily life, seems to take his wife’s affection for granted, and the household is marked by a subtle strain.

With a restless search for love in Hyderabad, Luv clings to a peculiar belief that securing the first girlfriend is a difficult step that somehow opens the floodgates to a stream of attention. He becomes friendly with Anu under odd circumstances and begins to parade his new girlfriend to everyone who will look. Soon, the attention shifts: women who once rejected him now seem attracted to him, and Luv embarks on a casual spree with multiple relationships. Meanwhile, Anu, who genuinely loves him, is left watching from the wings.

A party scene becomes a turning point. Luv fabricates a claim, in Anu’s presence, that he has slept with her, a lie that wounds Anu most deeply. Heartbroken, she decides to leave, along with the town, and Luv cannot grasp why his behavior has driven her away, continuing with his own life while she withdraws.

An act of parental regret arrives with the death of Luv’s mother. Grief binds the family, and Luv’s father confronts his past arrogance—his failure to treasure his wife’s love until it is almost too late. He imparts a stark lesson: people realize the true value of others only after they have left them. This moment lands with Luv, stirring a self-awareness about how he treated Anu.

Armed with this dawning realization, Luv tries to locate Anu and win her back. But a setback follows: an MMS video showing Luv and Anu kissing leaks, released by someone who recently bought Luv’s phone—a phone that was stolen and sold by his younger brother. The scandal magnifies Anu’s anger and hardens her stance toward him. As she and her father plan to leave Hyderabad, Luv races to stop them because her safety is at risk from a person holding a grudge against him.

In the climactic moment, resilience and forgiveness intertwine. Luv is stabbed, and Anu saves him, transporting him to the hospital. After some time passes, they reconcile on a new footing as friends and end up at the same university, with Luv acknowledging, in hindsight, that he is not yet ready for a serious romantic relationship—an insight that anchors his ongoing personal growth.
