Cemetery Without Crosses

Will Rogers, patriarch of a wealthy ranching family, pressures the Caine brothers to sell off their sheep. In retaliation, the Caine brothers steal a shipment of gold coins intended for Rogers, and Ben is wounded during the escape.

Back at Ben's home, the Rogers ambush him and lynch him in front of his wife, Maria, who is forced to watch. The murder ignites the brothers' vow of revenge.

Will and his kin ride to the Caine brothers' ranch and burn the place to the ground. The arson destroys their home and livelihood and deepens the feud.

Thomas and Eli ride to Maria's home, where she is burying Ben, and present her with a third share of the stolen money. The gesture acknowledges the tangled web between the families and fuels her resolve for revenge.

Driven by vengeance, Maria takes the money to a desert ghost town and meets Manuel, a gunfighter with a past tied to Ben and Maria. She asks him to avenge Ben, and he reluctantly agrees, known for wearing a black leather glove in duels.

Manuel travels to a nearby town and stays at a hotel frequented by Will's sons. In the saloon, vigilantes from the rival Vallee family confront the Rogers; Manuel kills the Vallees, and is quickly arrested.

The next morning, the Rogers bribe the sheriff to release Manuel and bring him to the family ranch, where they install him as foreman. He accepts the role and begins living with the Rogers' circle.

That night, Manuel dines with the Rogers and their ranch hands. He jokingly opens a mustard jar to reveal a jack-in-the-box, which breaks the ice and earns their trust.

Manuel opens the corral and frees the horses, creating a distraction. He then kidnaps Diana, Will's teenage daughter, and takes her to the ghost town.

In the ghost town, Thomas and Eli rape Diana while Maria and Manuel stand outside, growing uneasy about the escalating violence. The moment hardens the resolve of those involved.

Maria rides to the Rogers ranch and demands that Ben be reburied in the town cemetery in exchange for Diana's life. Will's men reluctantly agree, and Ben receives a sizeable funeral procession and burial.

The Rogers capture the Caine brothers; Thomas tries to surrender Diana for $2000, but the plan fails and he is shot. Eli then reveals that Diana is in the ghost town.

Manuel takes Diana back to her family's ranch, returning her to safety. Maria returns to her own home to await Manuel, so they can travel north together.

Manuel later finds Maria mortally wounded and she dies in his arms. She admits she married Ben out of fear of not seeing Manuel again.

Manuel rides to the ghost town street and guns down the Rogers in quick succession, while Diana watches from horseback with a rifle. He removes his glove and disarms himself; Diana shoots him, and he dies on the sand.
