Caught Up

Daryl wants to leave his criminal past behind and open a nightclub to be part of his son Jerome's life. His friend Trip offers the money needed for the venture, a $10,000 loan that could start him on the right track. The plan sets the stage for the dangerous path ahead.

Trip drags Daryl into a robbery under the guise of funding the club, catching him by surprise. A high-speed police chase ensues, turning violent on the road. Trip is killed and Daryl is sent back to prison as a result.

With the money from the diamonds, Daryl buys his own club and Jerome comes to live with him. He delivers a final line about life being a game and the need to avoid getting caught. It closes his long, turbulent arc with a hard-won, cautious victory.
