Bullet Scars

After a bank robbery, Frank Dillon and his gang race away with Joe Madison badly wounded. They stop at a doctor's office, hoping to patch him up. When the doctor tries to call the police to report the gunshot, Dillon shoots him dead.

Dillon flees with his gang and hides in a remote lodge. Nora Madison, Joe's sister, arrives, determined to help her brother despite the danger. The gang keeps watch to prevent interference.

Dillon finds Dr. Steven Bishop, who is about to depart for a research assignment. Dillon promises a fully equipped lab and $500 per month to stay and treat Joe. He pretends the shooting was an accident and claims a physician is needed on hand for the group.

Bishop agrees to stay and treat Joe, not realizing Dillon’s true identity. He accepts the unusual arrangement, drawn by the prospect of resources for his research.

Bishop and Nora operate on Joe, leaving him paralyzed but coherent enough to blink answers. The procedure marks the beginning of a fragile alliance between the doctor and nurse, and it frustrates Dillon who wants control.

As Bishop and Nora grow closer during Joe’s care, Dillon grows increasingly jealous and wary. He senses Nora’s influence over Joe and fears losing her allegiance to him.

Nora tries to warn Bishop about Dillon’s true nature, but members of the gang monitor them, keeping the couple apart. Bishop remains in the dark about who Dillon really is.

Bishop gradually pieces together Dillon’s identity and true intentions. He understands that Dillon can kill to protect his gang, and this realization heightens the stakes for their safety.

Joe finally dies, and the group scrambles to conceal his death to keep Dillon from panicking. Nora and Bishop worry that discovery could doom them all.

Bishop asks Dillon to send two gang members to the pharmacist to fetch medicine, giving them a plausible reason to leave. Bishop then writes a prescription that is not what it seems, a cipher with information about the gang's location.

The pharmacist reports the suspicious prescription and alerts authorities, triggering the sheriff’s involvement. The message embedded in the prescription is read by law enforcement as a lead.

The sheriff coordinates with state troopers and moves in as the gang leaves or tries to regroup. A climactic shootout erupts, wiping out the gang and ending the immediate threat to Nora and Bishop.

With the gang eliminated, Bishop and Nora find their happy ending. They survive the ordeal and look toward a future together, free from the gang’s menace.
