He carries on an affair with Zillah Craig, who is pregnant with his child, even though he remains married to Debbie. West’s wife Bonnie Sue provides crucial clues, directing the investigators toward the woods where they uncover a shallow grave containing West’s body, deepening the sense that this is more than a routine missing person case.

As the investigators trace the group’s steps, Butler, the Aryan Nations figurehead, becomes a focal point.
