Broadcast Signal Intrusion

James is a video archivist who spends his days digitizing tapes at a television station. He is still grieving the mysterious disappearance of his wife, Hannah, which occurred three years prior. His routine is disrupted by his ongoing sorrow and obsession with the past.

While reviewing old broadcast footage, James notices a strange signal intrusion—a pirate video interrupting the normal programming. The disturbing clip features a person in a distorted white rubber mask speaking in garbled voices. This event marks the beginning of his obsession.

James researches the origins of the broadcast intrusions and uncovers similar incidents from the late 1980s and early 1990s. He finds that these intrusions coincide with the disappearances of several women, including someone resembling Hannah, fueling his fixation.

James reaches out to Dr. Stuart Lithgow, a former FCC investigator, to gain insight into the mysterious signals. Lithgow dismisses the case as long abandoned, implying that solving it is now nearly impossible. Despite this, James persists in his investigation.

James encounters Alice, a mysterious young woman with her own troubled history. She becomes his temporary companion and helper in the search for clues hidden within the broadcast footage. Their alliance deepens as they follow cryptic leads.

Together, James and Alice analyze the tapes, discovering embedded Morse code, strange audio signals, and hidden phone numbers. These clues point him toward the location of the third intrusion video, fueling his obsession and paranoia.

Alice suddenly vanishes without a trace, intensifying James’s sense of isolation. As his paranoia grows, he begins to experience hallucinations involving masked figures from the tapes. His mental state deteriorates significantly.

James tracks down Michael Gardiner at an abandoned farmhouse, where he finds a mentally unstable man possibly connected to the broadcasts. James restrains him and reenacts the hijacked broadcast scene, seeking answers.

During the reenactment, Michael appears guilty but remains ambiguous about his involvement. Convinced he has found the responsible party, James kills Michael in a violent climax, blurring the lines of guilt.

On the way back to the city, James's mental state worsens, and he begins to hallucinate interference on his radio. Suddenly, he hits an apparently artificial, robotic-looking woman in the dark, with black liquid oozing from her mouth, indicating a disturbing encounter.
