Bombay Rose

Kamala and her family flee a forced child marriage and migrate to Bombay seeking safety and a fresh start. In the city, Kamala supports her grandfather, a watchmaker, and her sister Tara by selling flowers and taking whatever work comes her way.

To support her family, Kamala takes a job as a dancer at the bar Pyaasa. Mike, a pimp, notices her and arranges a lucrative offer to go to Dubai, demanding half of two lakh rupees as his cut.

Kamala notices Salim, a Muslim flower seller from across the street, and they fall in love. They communicate only through glances and flowers, their bond growing despite the barriers between them.

Tara intervenes to protect Tipu, an orphaned deaf-mute boy, from arrest as a child laborer. Kamala welcomes Tipu into their home, while her grandfather initially resists his presence.

Mike tricks Salim into visiting Pyaasa and reveals Kamala's occupation as a dancer. Salim feels betrayed that Kamala hadn't told him about this side of her life and leaves in disappointment.

Kamala learns that Salim steals flowers from Shirley's cemetery display to sell for money. This theft fuels a painful rift between the lovers and suspicion grows on both sides.

Pyaasa is shut down, threatening Kamala's livelihood. Mike promises her a job in Dubai, pressuring her to accept or risk losing her means of support.

Tara and Shirley visit an antique shop owned by Anthony Pereira, where Tony harbors feelings for Shirley. Tara helps repair toys with Tipu, and the boy's presence leads Anthony to soften and allow Tipu to stay.

That night, Salim meets Kamala and takes her to the cemetery, returning the flowers he had collected to sell, signaling a change of heart. They walk together toward their future despite the looming danger.

As they approach Pyaasa, police raid pimps and dancers on a tip from Mike. The lovers try to flee, but Salim is struck by a car driven by Raja Khan and dies in Kamala's arms.

Anthony finds Shirley dead in her house after the turmoil. He discovers she has left assets and funds to support Tara's education, highlighting her lasting generosity.

Shirley's bequest enables Anthony to consider opening a toy repair shop to support Kamala and Tara. He meets Kamala and her grandfather to discuss the prospects, signaling a new partnership.

Mike arrives with Dubai tickets, trying to coerce Kamala to flee her past. Kamala tears up the tickets and declares that the bar no longer exists, reclaiming her freedom.

With Anthony's support, Kamala and her grandfather establish a toy repair and watchmaking store named Bombay Rose. Kamala finally finds independence and a new family, building a life beyond exploitation.
