Suddenly, gunfire erupts, prompting Lydia to rush inside where she finds chaos. Jonah is demanding information from a tied-up woman while Lydia pleads for the woman's life, setting off a chain of tragic events.

In a moment of panic, Lydia accidentally shoots Jonah in the neck, leaving him critically injured. This impulsive act forces Lydia to escape as Jonah's men rush in to assist him, marking a turning point in her life.

Meanwhile, Lydia's father, John, is introduced as an ex-con recently released on parole. He shares his struggles during an AA meeting, highlighting his efforts to rebuild his life following incarceration.

After receiving a frantic call from Lydia, John drives to Santa Monica to pick her up. The reunion is tense, with Lydia clearly shaken from her recent trauma and her substance use evident as she quickly falls asleep.

The following day, John's quiet life is disrupted when gang members arrive at his trailer. A violent confrontation ensues, during which John stabs one of the gang members to protect himself and Lydia from harm.

As police sirens approach, John and Lydia escape from the gang and flee the chaos of the trailer. However, as they think they are safe, the violence escalates further when a police officer is killed.

In search of assistance, John reaches out to an old friend, Preacher. However, he soon realizes that Preacher plans to betray them for the reward money, leading to a violent confrontation.

Their journey turns perilous as John and Lydia face relentless pursued by professional assassins. The stakes rise as John uncovers Jonah's role in the drug theft, complicating their situation even further.
