In this gripping adventure, we follow Alex Mathis, a well-intentioned yet financially struggling exterminator in Los Angeles, who unravels into a frantic game of cat and mouse with a dangerous spider wreaking havoc across the city. His troubles escalate when he is bitten by this venomous creature while attempting to assist an elderly woman with a rodent issue, propelling him into a chaotic trip to the hospital. There, he meets José Ramos, a straightforward security guard who becomes an unexpected ally.

As Alex grapples with the repercussions of his predicament, he and José devise a plan to track the spider, which has cunningly escaped into the complex air vents of the metropolis. Simultaneously, a U.S. military task force, commanded by the stoic Major Braxton Tanner and Lieutenant Karly Brant, arrives in search of answers regarding a mysterious corpse that birthed the monstrous arachnid. Tensions flare as Alex is drawn to the secretive Karly, who remains tight-lipped about their true mission.

As the stakes escalate, Alex and José embark on a treacherous journey to recapture the spider, which begins terrorizing innocent civilians in a crowded park. With every heartbeat, the spider grows more formidable, leaving behind chaos and devastation. In a heart-racing showdown, Alex and José attempt to lure the beast into the military’s trap, only for it to slip away once again, prompting Karly and her team into a desperate chase through the woods.

In the heat of battle, Alex finally learns the shocking origins of the spider: it was exposed to alien DNA during scientific experimentation focused on its growth-enhancing qualities. Alarmingly, this revelation arrives too late as the spider multiplies, potentially unleashing a catastrophic plague upon an unsuspecting world. As Alex and José head deeper into the city, their quest takes a thrilling turn with the colossal spider claiming the top of the iconic U.S. Bank Tower as its lair. Under Braxton’s strategic command, they navigate the challenging hallways, only to find that Karly is held captive within the very nest they’ve infiltrated.

With time running out, they manage to rescue Karly and several other civilians just as the ravenously hatching baby spiders begin their assault. Their narrow escape culminates in a moment of victory when Alex realizes that the spider’s weak spinneret is its Achilles’ heel. Seizing an opportunity, José grabs a rocket launcher from a nearby military unit, and with precise aim, Alex targets the spider’s vulnerable spot, ultimately slaying the monstrous creature.

In the aftermath, amidst the debris of chaos, Alex shares a heartfelt kiss with Karly, providing a brief moment of respite. However, as the credits roll, Braxton calls Alex with a distressing update, hinting at further impending doom. The screen fades, and then jolts back to life, showcasing a terrifying sight: a massive cockroach climbing the iconic Statue of Liberty, ominously hinting at a new wave of monstrous threats on the horizon.
