Titli's father Brijmohan Mishra declares that Ranjan must secure a government job to marry Titli. Desperate to wed, Ranjan bribes a man named Bhagwan to obtain the post. The act seeds corruption in his life and sets the stage for the Haldi ceremony and the looming time loop.

On Haldi day, the wedding is scheduled for the next day. After spending Haldi, Ranjan wakes up to the same day again, realizing he's trapped in a time loop. The loop is tied to his unfulfilled vow to perform a good deed.

Ranjan discovers the loop will persist until he performs a truly good deed. He understands that breaking the cycle requires moral action, not selfish trickery. The quest to find a genuine act becomes his new mission.

Ranjan tries various strategies to perform a good deed, but none of them break the loop. Each failed attempt deepens his anxiety about losing Titli and the wedding. In a dark moment, he even contemplates suicide as an escape from the endless day.

Ranjan meets Hamid Ansari, an unemployed man who also plans to end his life. He learns that Ansari is the rightful candidate whose government job was wrongly given to Ranjan because of the bribe. The time loop is revealed to be linked to this corruption.

Ansari explains that he wants the government post to curb corruption and to bring basic services like water and electricity to his village. He refuses other job offers and persists in this goal, even as the loop continues. He embodies the higher purpose behind Ranjan's vow.

The next morning, the 29th, Ansari is alive and gives Ranjan a chance to amend his mistake. This opportunity to restore Ansari's rightful job forces a difficult ethical choice on Ranjan. He must decide whether to sacrifice personal happiness for the greater good.

Ranjan chooses to return the government post to Ansari, undoing his earlier bribe. The time loop breaks, and life resumes as if nothing happened, though the wedding plans are still unsettled. The community remains unaware of the unemployment issue behind the scenes.

With the loop over, Ranjan announces that he has given up his job, and the wedding is called off. He faces criticism from Titli and others who expect him to honour the arranged marriage. The crisis tests Titli's feelings and the strength of their bond.

Bhagwan enters and delivers an eye-opening speech about humanity and selflessness. He supports Ranjan’s decision to prioritize Ansari's rightful claim over his own career. His words encourage Titli to rethink her stance on the marriage.
