By 1983, Dr. Barry Nyle has become the leading figure at the Arboria Institute, deeply devoted to its mission and particularly to a young woman named Elena. While he presents himself as her protector, his methods reveal a darker obsession with controlling her formidable psychic powers.

Elena, who is imprisoned in the lower levels of the Institute, possesses extraordinary telepathic abilities that Nyle seeks to suppress. He employs a luminous prismatic device to control her, revealing his manipulative attitude toward her gifts and his ethical depravity.

During intense therapy sessions, Elena yearns to connect with her father but is met with Nyle's cold dismissal. This dynamic underscores her isolation within the facility and highlights the emotional abuse she endures under Nyle's treatment.
