Alex and Jenn arrive at the provincial park to spend the weekend camping. Alex declines a map from the park ranger, confident that he knows the park well. They set up their camp and settle in for the night.

Brad, the Irish tour guide, joins them for dinner at their campsite. He flirts with Jenn, which annoys Alex. The tension culminates in Brad leaving after a brief confrontation.

The following morning, Alex ventures off-trail in search of the lake he recalls. He spots a bear paw print and a half-eaten deer, signaling wildlife and potential danger. Jenn remains with him, unaware of the full extent of his plan.

Jenn discovers her phone is missing, triggering an argument as they hike. Alex admits he removed it to prevent distraction, and he reveals he planned to propose. The conversation heightens the disconnect between them.

They make camp for the night and fall asleep, only to be jolted by a huge black bear approaching the tent. The bear circles the campsite, sniffing at their gear and posing a direct threat. The couple seeks safety as the animal looms closer.

In the morning, they discover all their food has been eaten. The bear's presence makes it clear they must travel while there is daylight, so they continue deeper into the park. Tension remains high as they move cautiously.

While hiking later, they come across a bear bed, signaling the bear's recent presence nearby. They decide to push on and walk as far as possible while there is daylight left. The risk in the landscape intensifies as they proceed.

The following morning, the bear is close again and claws through their tent, injuring Jenn's arm as it drags Alex out and mauls him to death. Jenn, terrified, manages to flee with only the clothes on her back. She escapes into the wilderness with no belongings.

Jenn spends the night high up in a tree to avoid the bear. She awakens to the sound of a helicopter overhead but cannot signal for help. She remains alert as the bear stalks the area below.

Later, the bear stalks her again, and she escapes by climbing down a waterfall. She slips and breaks her ankle, forcing her to improvise a splint from forest materials. She presses on with the injury, determined to reach safety.

Using a makeshift splint, she binds her injured ankle and continues through the park with a flare as her guide. The flare helps her navigate the rough terrain and stay oriented toward safety. She remains focused on reaching the park entrance.

Jenn makes it back toward the point where they left their canoe. She reaches the shoreline and makes her way to the water to complete her journey back to civilization.

She paddles toward the park entrance and collapses in the parking lot from exhaustion. Brad, who is preparing to lead a tour, notices her and rushes over to help.
