Mohini, Poorna, and Harsha, Harshvardhan Rane, leave their suburban life behind and move into a sleek central-city apartment, hoping this new setting will bring them closer to the long-awaited consummation of their marriage. Mohini wears a talisman around her neck, a small charm that she believes keeps her safe in this fresh start, while the couple quietly settles into their stylish new home. The move, however, does not go smoothly for the pair’s neighborly relations; their new residence becomes a magnet for suspicion and clashes, as the neighbor Chalapathi Rao as Ranga often doubts anyone who enters the couple’s door and vocalizes those doubts in heated disputes.
In the laboratory, Harsha and his colleagues pursue paranormal research under the guidance of a doctor who probes how spirits detach from bodies and where they go afterwards. Harsha’s partner, Sanjjana Galrani — playing a key role with the paranormal activity detector — helps monitor the experiments, providing a scientific counterpoint to the eerie happenings that haunt their home. The scientific setup contrasts with the creeping fear at Mohini’s residence, where the spirit of Captain Raju becomes a looming threat. For Mohini, the danger is all too personal: the ghost of Captain Raju makes several deliberate attempts to intrude into their home life, especially at night or when Mohini is undressed or preparing for a party, trying to remove the protective chain around her neck.
The tension escalates as the talisman chain loosens and eventually detaches, slipping behind a closet where it momentarily disappears from sight. Sensing an opportunity, Captain Raju’s spirit possesses a plumber, launching a more intimate haunting that targets Mohini. In the chaos that follows, Mohini manages to retrieve the chain, and Harsha, along with his friend, arrive to hear her account of the events. Sanjjana Galrani is called to widen the detector search, but she initially finds nothing conclusive as she scans the upper floors.
The haunting takes a darker turn when the chain’s detachment coincides with a horrific act: Sanjana is trapped in a room and brutally raped and killed by Captain Raju’s spirit. This brutal act sharpens the fear and shifts the balance of power, as the spirit then attempts to enter Harsha’s body and pursue Mohini again. Harsha’s friend intervenes, and Mohini clutches the chain in a desperate bid for safety. The supernatural aggression shifts between bodies as the spirit briefly occupies Harsha’s friend in a renewed attempt to assault Mohini, but the immediate danger is thwarted just in time.
As the confrontation intensifies, Harsha regains awareness and, with Mohini’s quick thinking, she manages to free herself and confront the threat. The neighbor then intervenes, discovering a scene of peril in the dining room where Harsha’s friend appears to be intent on harming Mohini. Harsha, maneuvering a high-tech defense in the apartment, disables a dangerous situation by lowering an AI ceiling fan with his smartphone, injuring the possessed body and forcing a retreat. Mohini escapes toward Harsha, while the malevolent presence persists, seeking to close in again.
The struggle reaches a climactic moment on Maha Shivratri, as the clock nears midnight. The neighbor helps to hold back the spirit, and, with the help of the talisman and Mohini’s resilience, the possession is broken just as the clock chimes twelve. The spirit’s hold weakens and finally releases, allowing Mohini and Harsha to emerge with their safety intact. In the aftermath, they reflect on how their lives have been forever altered by the ordeal, yet they remain together and determined to rebuild.
Back in the suburbs, the family of the late Captain Raju contemplates the question of the afterlife. His child asks his mother whether the father has gone to Heaven or Hell, a question that is dismissed with a laugh by the uncle. Moments later, a mysterious spirit delivers a jarring reality check by slapping the uncle, hinting that Captain Raju’s presence remains and that the spirit may still linger beyond the mortal realm.
