The test run swiftly deteriorates when the intense heat from the surrounding magma causes Perry and Innes to lose consciousness. They become helpless, surrendering control to the dark forces hiding beneath the Earth's crust.

Upon regaining consciousness, the duo discovers they are plunging deeper into uncharted territory within the Earth’s core. This surreal environment marks the beginning of their strange and perilous journey.

Emerging into a bizarre and prehistoric-like terrain, Perry and Innes find themselves captured by the Sagoths, ape-like creatures that enslave humans. Their initial marvel quickly turns into a desperate struggle for survival.

The Sagoths are under the sinister control of the telepathic Mahars, flying reptiles that dominate their realm. This dark discovery heightens the tension as Perry and Innes realize the intellectual and physical dangers they face.

David Innes becomes increasingly empathetic towards Princess Dia, who is imprisoned by the Mahars. This emotional connection prompts him to rally the other enslaved humans for a significant upheaval.

David and his fellow captive Ra face execution in a gladiatorial arena as the Sagoths unleash a giant dinosaur against them. With Perry’s guidance, they manage to exploit the creature's weak spot, turning the fight in their favor.

Following their triumph over the dinosaur, David and Ra face the challenge of defeating a Mahar. Their brilliant teamwork earns them the respect of the oppressed tribes and inspires them to rise against their captors.

In a surprising twist, a minor calculation error during their ascent causes the Iron Mole to break through the ground below the White House lawn. This shocking emergence leaves nearby Secret Service agents in utter disbelief.
