Sebastian, a bank teller in Potsdam, leads a routine life punctuated by strange dreams. His nights are often disrupted by nightmares about a zombie outbreak that has made headlines around the world.

Sebastian attempts to gain recognition by uploading YouTube videos on safe-cracking. His fortunes change when a mysterious user comments on his video, inviting him to an underground safe-cracking competition that piques his interest.

Feeling adventurous, Sebastian enters the underground safe-cracking competition. To his surprise, he emerges victorious, igniting excitement for what lies ahead in the world of heists.

After his victory, Sebastian encounters Gwendoline Starr, an accomplished jewel thief who previously commented on his work. Gwendoline recruits him into her heist crew, marking the beginning of a thrilling partnership.

Gwendoline introduces Sebastian to the rest of her eclectic crew, including the hacker Korina, the driver Rolph, and the sharp-shooter Brad Cage. Together, they plan to target three safes created by the master locksmith Hans Wagner.

The crew successfully executes their first daring heist in Paris, targeting the least complex of Wagner's safes. Despite retrieving only a portion of the money, Gwendoline emphasizes the importance of reputation and challenge over cash.

As they celebrate their Parisian success, Sebastian finds himself growing closer to Gwendoline, stirring jealousy in Brad, who is Gwendoline's long-time boyfriend. The budding romance complicates the dynamics within the crew.

The crew sets their sights on a second heist in Prague, rumored to contain a staggering $40 million. However, they must evade the persistent Interpol agent Delacroix, who has been closely tracking Gwendoline.

During their heist at the bank, Sebastian successfully cracks the second safe, but the operation takes a turn when security recognizes them. As chaos ensues, Brad stages a fake robbery, but he's injured, leaving Sebastian vulnerable.

Frustrated with Brad's reckless behavior, Gwendoline and Korina decide to leave the crew. Initially intending to discard Sebastian, they ultimately regroup to focus on the final heist and the challenges ahead.

Determined to pursue the Wagner challenge, the crew targets St. Moritz, where the final safe in Europe is located. Unbeknownst to them, Delacroix is also closing in on their operations.

In a daring twist, the crew hijacks the safe during its transfer from a casino, competing against Brad and Rolph’s plan to rob it themselves. Sebastian must perform under immense pressure as law enforcement closes in.

In a thrilling climax, Gwendoline and Sebastian manage to escape with the stolen money. However, they are confronted by Delacroix, which leads to an emotional sacrifice from Gwendoline for Sebastian's safety.

In the aftermath, Sebastian assumes a new identity as Ludwig and runs a locksmith shop in California. His life takes another turn when he is presented with the chance to crack Wagner's legendary 'missing' safe.
