Shivaraj Arasu, a wealthy NRI, is pulled back to his homeland when his manager urges him to return to India to run the family businesses. He leaves behind his carefree American lifestyle and lands back in India with new responsibilities looming over him.

In India, he falls for Shruthi, Ramanna's daughter, and proposes marriage. Shruthi blasts his spoiled lifestyle and issues a challenge: earn at least ₹5,000 a month on his own before she will consider him, also commenting caustically on the company's ventures.

Moved by the challenge, Aras quits the company and begins a quest to find a job. With no money in his pocket, he faces the harsh realities of city life and the effort required to stand on his own feet.

He goes to a hotel asking for a meal, but the manager doesn't trust his promise to pay back later and throws him out. The rejection marks a stark fall from privilege and underscores the social barriers he must overcome.

He meets an old banana seller and promises to pay Rs. 200,000 after a month, then eats two bananas to fill a growing hunger. The vow tests his resolve as he tries to keep faith with his bold promise.

When rowdies attack Aishwarya, Shivaraj uses his muscle to defend her, earning a good reputation among locals. Soon after, he lands a job as a sales representative in the saree shop where Aishwarya works.

Aishwarya offers him shelter, and he stays in a small room in her house for a month, even sleeping on the floor. His humility and hard work win the respect of the community and begin changing his outlook.

After a month, Shivaraj is popular with Aishwarya, and Shruthi is also in love with him and ready to marry. The two women are revealed to be close friends, while Shivaraj remains unaware of Aishwarya's growing feelings.

Aishwarya confesses to Shruthi that she loves Shivaraj, which surprises Shruthi. Shruthi, feeling protective of her friend, asks for forgiveness, and Shivaraj agrees to listen to both sides.

Shruthi decides to give up her own love for the sake of her friend and to allow Aishwarya to pursue Shivaraj. This selfless move is meant to clear the path to their happiness.

Aishwarya, aware that Shruthi is ready for marriage with Shivaraj, also sacrifices her own love. She steps back to prioritize her friend's happiness.

Not knowing what to do, Shivaraj quietly convinces Shruthi and Aishwarya to marry his two good friends, Vijay and Vinay. In a twist, their arrangement leads the friends to take action on an unexpected third proposal.

The friends arrange for Arpitha to come into Shivaraj's life, and she drives in to declare her love for him. The film ends on this fresh romantic turn, leaving the future open.
