In 1960s Burma, Murugappa alias Munaruna, a Tamil worker, saves Samudra, the daughter of a Burmese army general, from a dangerous Ferris wheel incident. Their instant connection blossoms into love, even as Mallika pines for Munaruna. The act sets in motion a forbidden romance that complicates life for everyone involved.

The Burmese general disapproves of Munaruna and Samudra's relationship, stripping away the privileges enjoyed by Tamil immigrants. Tension escalates into violence as ethnic strife intensifies. The couple's happiness is overshadowed by political pressure and communal danger.

With violence erupting, Munaruna, Samudra, and their friends flee Burma and join other Tamil refugees on a crowded ship. Samudra's father arrives seeking his daughter, and Mallika reveals Munaruna and Samudra's secret bond. The voyage becomes a perilous pursuit of safety.

During the chaos aboard the ship, Munaruna is shot, leaving Samudra devastated. In a final act of devotion, she handcuffs herself to him and they both drown in the sea. Their deaths mark a heartbreaking end to their forbidden love.

In present-day India, Samudra, now known as Madhu, tells her psychiatrist Dr. Radhika that she has already met Saamuda and Mallika under new names in her work. Radhika dismisses it as work stress and prescribes medication. The sessions reveal that Madhu’s memories may be more than ordinary hallucinations.

Madhu meets a new coworker, Ashwin, and is drawn to him because of his striking resemblance to Munaruna. She flirts with him, blending memory and present attraction. Their interactions foreshadow a deeper connection that mirrors her past life.

Meera, another colleague, hallucinates ghosts that assault her and ultimately jumps from the office window. The office becomes a place of fear as her vision becomes fatal reality. Her death deepens the mystery surrounding Madhu’s memories.

During therapy, Madhu recalls her first birth as Shenbagavalli, a princess in love with a king named Ilamaran who resembles Ashwin. The lovers are betrayed and killed by a traitorous officer in Ilamaran's army. These memories echo the cycles of love and betrayal that thread through her visions.

A car accident lands Madhu in the hospital, where she dreams of Kaali and Kalyani's doomed romance. She describes the missing couple and its tragedy to the policemen, hinting that these are more than mere dreams. Inspector Gopinath appears in her dream and mirrors a present-day figure.

Madhu recites the dream to the hospital police, and Inspector Gopinath arrives to relate a missing persons case from 25 years ago about Kaali and Kalyani. They excavate a site and uncover skeletal remains, including a ring engraved with the letter R. The discovery links Madhu’s visions to real, buried past.

The mystery deepens when Ravi is revealed to be Kiran, the mastermind behind the crimes. Kiran kidnaps Madhu and murders Murthy, escalating the danger around her. Ashwin begins uncovering Kiran’s illegal schemes that stretch through the company.

Ashwin and Radhika go to Gopinath's office to reveal Kiran's illegal activities; on the way they are attacked by Kiran's men, during which Radhika dies. Separately, they uncover that Kiran has been administering illegal drugs to employees to boost creativity, fueling vivid hallucinations tied to Madhu’s past lives. The team realizes the ‘memories’ may be manufactured by manipulation.

Ashwin reaches Kiran's lair and confronts him in a decisive fight. A knife thrown by Ashwin into a tree ends up striking Kiran, who dies on the spot. Inspector Gopinath later seals the incident as a suicide to avoid exposure of the illegal operation.

Ashwin and Madhu marry and honeymoon back in Burma, seeking a fresh start after the unraveling of the mystery. They wrestle with whether the memories were real or formed by drug-induced visions. The journey ends with a symbolic reminder of Munaruna and Samudra’s names.

As they travel, the couple passes a log bearing the carved names of Munaruna and Samudra, reinforcing the link between Madhu’s past lives and her present love. The scene suggests that memory, myth, and enduring love blur together across lifetimes. The film closes on a note of eternal connection.
