Gary Hamilton, a former Union Army officer, is sentenced to forced labor for an attempted robbery. It is later revealed that his former friend Acombar committed the crime and framed Hamilton by leaving his water bottle at the scene, while keeping the stolen gold for himself and becoming a powerful landlord.

After a decade in prison, Hamilton is pardoned thanks to his military record. He decides to return to his hometown, which is now under Acombar's control, setting the stage for his quest for revenge.

On the stagecoach heading to the town, Hamilton encounters Dick, Acombar's unsuspecting son. Hamilton poses as Acombar's friend and instructs Dick to inform his father of his imminent arrival, unwittingly alerting Acombar.

Hearing from Dick about Hamilton's return, Acombar organizes guards and sets traps to prevent Hamilton from reaching the town or mansion, demonstrating his awareness of the threat.

Hamilton avoids an ambush set by Acombar's men by escaping through the city's underground catacombs, which lead from an old cemetery to the church's basement. He then proceeds stealthily, utilizing the chaos of an incoming tornado.

Under the cover of the tornado's obscurity, Hamilton systematically eliminates Acombar's men, including the Santamaría brothers, using inventive methods such as hanging from a bell and crushing with a falling bell.

Hamilton reaches the mansion and reveals the truth about Dick's father and stepmother, Mary. Dick learns the dark history and sides with Hamilton, although Acombar remains unaware of Hamilton’s presence.

When Acombar sees Dick at the mansion, he mistakenly believes Hamilton is nearby and kills Dick. Enraged, Acombar then murders his wife Mary, blaming her for Dick's death.

Acombar finds Hamilton hiding among mirrors in the mansion. During their gunfight, a fire breaks out, and Hamilton manages to shoot and kill Acombar, ending his reign of terror.

With his revenge achieved, Hamilton departs the ruined city on horseback. He leaves the gold he confiscated for the townspeople to repair the damage caused by his arrival.
