J. Balasubramaniam, a wealthy industrialist, travels to his Shimla bungalow for a long-awaited vacation after a grueling Europe and New York trip. On arrival, he discovers Krishnaiah has rented the bungalow to a Bangalore-based couple and their daughter Geetha. The tranquil hillside setting becomes the stage for JB to test the living arrangement while staying undercover.

Krishnaiah and his wife leave for Kasi after collecting the rent, leaving Krishnaiah's daughter Kannamma and her brother-in-law Ramaiah to manage the house and its guests. Geetha is introduced as the daughter in the rented household, setting up a clash of personalities with JB’s hidden presence. The home becomes a microcosm for evolving relationships.

To hide his true identity, JB adopts the alias Balu and pays the rent for a place in his own house. Ramaiah accepts the money and assigns JB’s room to Balu without realizing they are the same man. The deception quietly pulls JB and Geetha into a closer proximity.

Balu launches a series of playful pranks on Geetha, using humor to break the ice between them. Geetha, despite her ego and initial resistance, finds herself drawn to the mysterious helper. Their back-and-forth banter sows the seeds of a deeper attraction.

Balu pretends to suffer chest pain, a ploy that unsettles Geetha and makes her confront her feelings. In the moment, she admits that she loves him, even though she suspects his honesty. The emotional turn brings them closer, even as doubt lingers.

The next morning, Geetha and Ramaiah confront Balu about his health and the deception. Balu casually recounts the prank, which enrages Geetha and leaves her wondering if his professed love is real. The confrontation tests the strength of their budding relationship.

Geetha brings her vacationing friends to Shimla and attempts to drive Balu out of the house. Her plan backfires when her friends side with Balu, strengthening his position. Frustrated, Geetha resolves to push ahead with her own romantic and familial plans.

Geetha's engagement to Sekar, her maternal cousin, is planned to move forward. It later emerges that Sekar is JB’s school friend, and he agrees to play along with the ruse for the time being. The arrangement adds a layer of complexity to the lovers’ pursuit of happiness.

Geetha is rescued from a threat by a weightlifter named Sitting Bull, and Balu saves her life. The life-threatening moment rekindles trust and deepens their bond, leading to a renewed sense of love and commitment. The crisis becomes the turning point of their relationship.

Even as Balu confesses his love, Sekar learns the truth about the couple’s feelings and chooses to step aside. His decision removes the primary obstacle to Geetha and Balu’s union, signaling a smoother path toward their future together. The trio’s dynamic moves toward resolution.

Balu finally reveals that he is JB, the vacationing industrialist. Geetha, wary from prior pranks, suspects another trick and questions the sincerity of the confession. JB patiently explains the situation and reaffirms his love, aiming to end the misunderstandings.

After the truth is acknowledged and doubts are laid to rest, Geetha accepts that Balu is JB and reciprocates his love. The couple decides to marry, marking the joyful culmination of their romantic journey. Their wedding signals the beginning of their life together.
