Anaamika, an IT professional, lands in Hyderabad in a determined search for her missing husband, Ajay. She heads straight to the police to file a report, only to be dismissed by officers who refuse to take action. Yet one officer, Sarathy, chooses to stand with her, and their joint quest to locate Ajay begins.
She visits the hotel where Ajay last stayed, only to be met with a firm denial from the manager. Undeterred, she proves Ajay’s presence by reconstructing the state of a particular room from his own description, a telling clue that turns a closed door into a path forward. On the streets, she befriends a curious young boy named Raju who helps her navigate the maze of the city. With Sarathy by her side, they peel back layers of Ajay’s life at the company where he worked, discovering that he had resigned two weeks prior.
Raju brings a troubling bit of information: four goons kidnapped Ajay. This new thread pushes Anaamika back to the police, who are initially skeptical, but the hotel manager eventually reveals Ajay’s clothes and admits he misled her to keep the hotel’s reputation intact. A police lineup fails to yield a clear match, and a search among mortuary records confirms that an unidentified body is not Ajay.
As Durga pooja unfolds, a ritual exchange of blessed bangles and a dress becomes a moment of hope. Sarathy promises to introduce Anaamika to an informant the next day, and the plan starts to gain momentum. The informant speaks of students discussing a kidnapping, hinting at a larger network. When they seek help from the Imam, he initially refuses, lamenting the prejudice that madrassas face in the area. Yet he feels compelled to aid them and even compares Ajay’s photo with a wedding-day portrait, realizing they are the same man. The help is short-lived, as the Imam is later killed by a mysterious visitor.
A wedding brings them face to face with Ravi Chandra, Sarathy’s boss, who claims he can help in exchange for an affair. Anaamika rejects his advances, then later confronts him again and sets a harsher condition: he must locate Ajay within 24 hours. Ravi Chandra resumes his investigation but is swiftly murdered by the same killer who took the Imam’s life.
Khan, a senior officer, learns of Ajay’s striking resemblance to a bombing suspect and questions Anaamika. Her unwavering resolve cools his suspicions and prompts him to reopen the case properly. Together with Sarathy, Anaamika visits Ravi Chandra’s home, where an assassin arrives. A struggle ensues, and Anaamika kills the assassin, though Sarathy, unaware of the full stakes, takes the gun from her. Khan arrives, still in the dark about the hard drive Anaamika has acquired.
The hard drive becomes a pivotal thread. Anaamika sifts through its contents and begins dialing a string of numbers, including that of the Home Minister. A raid hits her room, but she manages to keep the hard drive hidden. A video arrives, showing Ajay and promising his safe return in exchange for the disk. She agrees to meet the kidnapper on a bridge at midnight, while Sarathy continues digging and identifies Laxman, an employee who pressured his sister into the kidnapping. A crucial clue surfaces: Laxman’s photo matches one found in the Imam’s album.
Midnight on the bridge finds Anaamika awaiting the kidnappers, with the police surrounding the area. Laxman seizes the hard drive, and Ajay is returned to Anaamika. The officers destroy the kidnappers’ car as the door to justice seems to close behind them. The Home Minister demands the disk, but Khan and Sarathy decide to protect the larger truth by destroying the evidence. Anaamika and Ajay visit People’s Plaza, where she unveils her knowledge of Ajay’s actions and kills him in self-defense. She leaves the hard drive for Khan and departs, while Khan and Sarathy recover the disk and resolve not to disclose its contents, honoring Anaamika as a hero in a difficult, morally gray case. In the end, her ingenuity and courage are recognized, and Khan resolves to keep her secret safe.
