On the surface, Hemanth runs an advertising firm and enjoys a stable, loving marriage with Veena. His childhood friend and poet, Abhishek Bharadwaj, arrives to stay with the family for a while. Shruthi, Abhishek’s girlfriend who died of cancer, left him with a painful promise: to marry again after her death. The grief weighs heavily, and over time Abhishek’s mood darkens as Veena’s strong resemblance to Shruthi stirs his memories. Hemanth notices the tension but keeps his concerns to himself, hoping to protect Veena from trouble.
During a prolonged stay, Abhishek’s fixation deepens, fed by Veena’s likeness to Shruthi, while the strain strains the family’s harmony. The quiet atmosphere is eventually fractured by a trip to Kodaikanal, where the group—plus the firm’s staff—seeks a change of scenery. Abhishek ends up driving Hemanth to a cliff at sunset in an off-road vehicle, presenting a moment of supposed leisure that masks something darker. At the overlook, Hemanth rebukes Abhishek for his advances toward Veena and urges him to head home before things worsen. In a shocking turn, Abhishek shifts the vehicle into neutral, hoping to send Hemanth plummeting down the cliff. Hemanth survives the collision but is left hanging, and Abhishek does not lift a hand to save him.
Veena is left to cope with her husband’s death. Friends urge Abhishek to stay by her side until she recovers, but Veena learns of Abhishek’s true intentions and confides in her close friend, Dr. Vimala. She also obtains the negatives from her husband’s motorised camera and studies them, discovering that all of Hemanth’s final moments were captured—including Abhishek’s presence as a witness who offered no help. Yet Veena pretends to have moved on, signaling to her circle that she might marry Abhishek.
A day later, Veena asks Abhishek to accompany her to the cliff where Hemanth died, a place that had long been Hemanth’s dream to photograph. At the site, she confronts him and lays bare her knowledge of what transpired that day, handing him the developed photographs that reveal the truth. Overcome by what she has shown him, Abhishek faces the consequences of his actions as Veena, in a final act of revenge, leaps from the cliff in front of him.
