Kishanlal is released from prison on 15 August 1955 after serving a sentence for the fatal hit-and-run committed by his employer, crime lord Robert. He returns home to find his wife Bharati suffering from TB and their three sons starving. When he confronts Robert for help, he is humiliated, abused, and disowned, setting him on a path of revenge.

Turning the tables, Kishanlal escapes in a car loaded with smuggled gold bullion, pursued by Robert's goons. He uses the getaway to begin amassing power and to threaten Robert from the shadows. The pursuit threads through city streets as he disappears with wealth.

Kishanlal arrives home to find Bharati gone, and her suicide note reveals her shame and despair at the family's fate. He and the three boys flee for Gandhi's statue at Borivali National Park to escape Robert's reach. The eldest boy is left in charge to guide the family's future.

Kishanlal drives off to mislead Robert's goons, but a fiery car crash erupts, and both the police and Robert's men believe Kishanlal and his sons are dead. The crash leaves him with the smuggling loot and a myth of extinction among his enemies.

The three brothers are separated and taken in by guardians of different faiths: Amar is raised by Hindu Superintendent Khanna, Anthony by Muslim tailor Darji Ilahabadi, and Raju by Ilahabadi before being placed with Father Gonsalves. Each boy is raised within a distinct religious tradition, shaping their identities for years to come.

Bharati is caught in a storm and struck blind by a falling branch, a cruel turn of fate. She is rescued by Mr. Ilahabadi and dropped off at home, but cannot see Raju beside him and believes her family is dead.

Kishanlal escapes the wreck and discovers Robert's gold, returning to a world where the park is empty and he has become a wealthy crime lord in his own right. Yet the loss of his family haunts him, leaving him emotionally hollow.

Bharati, now a flower seller, becomes the victim of a hit-and-run outside a church. Anthony takes her to a private hospital, while Amar, Akbar (Raju), and Bharati’s other son donate blood to save her life, unaware they are related. Their shared sacrifice foreshadows the family’s hidden bond.

Amar tracks highway robbers and meets Lakshmi, who is forced to act as bait by her abusive stepmother. Amar shelters Lakshmi and her grandmother, forming the basis for a new, protective family circle.

Kishanlal becomes a crime lord and kidnaps Robert’s infant daughter Jenny as revenge, raising her as his own niece and sending her abroad for schooling. He effectively destabilizes Robert’s organization while expanding his own influence.

During a smuggling operation, Kishanlal’s gang is raided and Robert shoots Superintendent Khanna, reasserting himself as crime lord and hiring Ranjeet to aid in reclaiming Jenny. The war between the two fronts intensifies.

Jenny returns from abroad and Anthony falls for her, while Bharati is taken hostage by Robert. During a festival honoring Sai Baba of Shirdi, Bharati’s sight is miraculously restored. She identifies Akbar as Raju, and he recognizes her as the blind woman who once helped him.

Akbar rescues Salma Ali and Taiyyab Ali from a house fire set by Taiyyab’s former mistress; Taiyyab grants permission for Akbar and Salma’s marriage. Amar discovers that Akbar and Kishanlal are his brothers, deepening the family reunion.

Kishanlal is double-crossed by Jenny’s bodyguard Zebisco, who delivers her to Robert in exchange for marriage. Father Gonsalves and Lakshmi pursue them, but Zebisco’s betrayal culminates in Robert murdering Father Gonsalves and Kishanlal’s talisman being planted as a clue.

The brothers infiltrate Robert’s mansion. Akbar disguises himself as an elderly tailor and accompanies the group to alter Jenny’s wedding dress, while Salma reads a letter and joins as his wife. Amar and Anthony impersonate a one-man band and a Catholic priest to help marry Jenny and Zebisco, and the brothers rescue their loved ones as they drive into the sunset.
