Bhavani Prasad comes from a long line of respected goldsmiths and works as a bank gold appraiser, a job that sometimes lets him bend rules by using the gold customers deposit for personal purposes. He shares a small home with his grandfather and two older brothers who are continually pulled into gambling troubles. Their village is famed for a powerful temple and a benevolent deity whose prayers are believed to help many bachelors and spinsters find a match quickly. The peace of this life is shaken when the government plans to assume responsibility for the temple, and Bhavani’s grandfather suffers a stroke, setting off a chain of revelations that go back two decades.

As the grandfather recovers, he unburdens a truth about Bhavani’s family that has haunted them for years. Twenty years earlier, when Bhavani’s mother was pregnant, his grandfather and father were entrusted with crafting jewels from donations collected for the temple. A tragic accident strikes Bhavani’s parents, and to cover medical bills, the grandfather pawns the donated gold. The doctors save Bhavani, but the grandfather, unable to face the consequences of his fraud, secretly swaps the genuine jewels with counterfeit ones. Because he is a renowned goldsmith, no one suspects him, and the deception goes undetected. Stricken by guilt, he abandons the temple and prays that Bhavani will one day right the wrong before the old man’s end.

Armed with his position and network as a gold appraiser, Bhavani decides to confront the past by leveraging the gold loans tied to Nagaraju, who controls the flow of gold and uses it to fund high-interest ventures. Bhavani and his allies melt the old gold and forge a fresh set of jewels, planning a careful switch later. Nagaraju’s daughter’s wedding prospects push him to try to withdraw his own jewels, but Bhavani foils him at every turn. Amid this tension, Bhavani finds himself drawn to a woman named Mahalakshmi, Pooja Jhaveri in the cast, a relationship that deepens as trust and love grow amid the danger.

The plan to replace the fake jewels with the originals is set into motion under the guise of a routine cleaning. Bhavani intends to have the genuine stones reinstalled after a ceremonial exchange, with the originals temporarily housed at the deity’s temple and the fakes kept secure in a locker. The goal is to restore the authentic jewels to their rightful place and then finalize the swap after securing funds from ancestral property in the coming months.

The next day, a shock hits the town: the fake jewels vanish in a theft. Investigations reveal that a small-time crook and a partner are behind the heist, but the partner betrays the crook by turning the original robber into a decoy. As Bhavani traces the trail, it becomes clear that the entire audacious plan was orchestrated by a village elder, adding layers of deception and motive to the already tangled web.

Meanwhile, Nagaraju publicly taunts Bhavani, accusing him of using the bank and the temple for his own gain and demanding the return of his jewels. The authorities move in when Nagaraju tries to buy back the jewels from the village elder, unaware that they belong to the deity. The arrest follows, but the drama takes another turn when Mahalakshmi reveals she has left her home with her share of the family property, and Nagaraju presents a note from his daughter as proof of her departure.

In a pivotal moment, Mahalakshmi discloses to Bhavani that she has fled with the jewels, and the note’s contents illuminate her side of the story. Faced with this revelation, Bhavani retrieves the jewels he has kept and makes a decisive switch, replacing the fakes with the originals he had kept all along. He then surrenders the genuine jewels to the police, a gesture that fulfills his grandfather’s wish and brings the long chapter of guilt to a close. The resolution reaffirms the moral thread that lies at the heart of the tale: honesty, family duty, and the enduring hope that one’s past can be redeemed through conscience and courage.
