Simon allows Alice to enjoy a rare night out at a bar with her two closest friends, Tess and Sophie. However, as the evening progresses, it becomes clear that Alice is preoccupied and anxious about something related to Simon.

To escape Simon's suspicious nature, Sophie suggests a birthday celebration for Tess at her parents' cottage up north. Alice excitedly supports the idea but fabricates a false story to Simon, claiming she must travel to Minneapolis for work.

While stopping at a convenience store on their way to the cottage, Alice notices a flyer for a missing girl named Andrea. This mysterious case captivates Alice and remains on her mind throughout their trip.

At the cottage, the women aim to enjoy a relaxing getaway but are disrupted by an unexpected call from Simon. He learns of their location from Alice's emails, insisting she return home, creating tension among the friends.

In defiance of Simon, Tess conceals Alice's phone and wallet to allow for some undisturbed time together. During this period, Tess and Alice bond deeper while Sophie goes to run an errand.

Tess attempts to teach Alice paddle boarding, but during the lesson, she playfully tips Alice into the water. In her frantic search for an earring gifted to her by Simon, Alice experiences a panic attack, revealing her fragile state.
