In this gripping and unpredictable thriller, brothers Dova and Milo, alongside their partner Law (William Fichtner), find themselves entangled in a disastrous heist in New Orleans. The botched robbery leads to a shocking incident where a police officer and two others are tragically killed, prompting the trio to seek refuge inside Dino’s Last Chance bar. While inside, tensions escalate as Milo is gravely injured and bleeding, and Law, who revels in violence and chaos, takes charge of the situation.

As seasoned federal agents, headed by Browning (Joe Mantegna), close in on the besieged bar, a desperate struggle for survival ignites within. Bar employee Janet bravely attempts to negotiate with the criminals, yet her efforts are in vain. The bar’s owner, Dino, is lurking with a shotgun, waiting for the right moment to retaliate. However, when the moment arrives, Law brutally overpowers him, asserting his dominance.

As Milo’s condition deteriorates, the robbers’ desperate demands to the authorities go unfulfilled, forcing Dova into a harrowing dilemma: should he surrender or yield to Law’s brutal tactics that threaten innocent lives? The latter option sends palpable fear through the hostages, particularly Danny (Skeet Ulrich), Janet’s son, who finds himself caught in the chaos.

Amidst the turmoil, a seemingly indifferent observer named Foucard (Viggo Mortensen) lurks in the shadows, hiding secrets of his own. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Foucard is a wanted fugitive, and the authorities are hot on his trail. As Dova and Law prepare to exploit the situation by surrendering Foucard to the police while masquerading as hostages, the true depth of their precarious predicament is just beginning to unravel.

The tense standoff escalates as Milo, filled with despair, implores his comrades, Dova and Law, to swear on their mothers’ graves that no one else would die. While both brothers reluctantly comply, Law’s resolve weakens under pressure, leading him to reconsider taking matters into his own hands. Dova, too, feels the weight of the situation, ultimately faltering and breaking his promise.

As Milo grows increasingly disillusioned with their dire circumstances, he makes the brave choice to surrender to the authorities. In a desperate attempt to prevent this, Dova draws a weapon and holds Milo hostage. Seizing an opportunity after Dova and Law leave, Milo makes a tragic decision to harm himself with a knife he had taken from a hostage.

The devastating aftermath of Milo’s decision leaves Dova grappling with insurmountable grief as he comes to terms with their shocking reality. As tensions heighten, Dova and Law resolve to hand over Foucard to the police, leading to a violent confrontation. As law enforcement surrounds the bar, a flurry of gunfire erupts, resulting in the deaths of both Law and Foucard.

Ultimately, Dova, along with the remaining hostages, gains their freedom, finally escaping the horrors of their ordeal. In a surprising twist, Janet steps in to shield Dova, recognizing his crucial role in preventing further tragedy by keeping Law from claiming additional innocent lives.
