Aha Naa Pellanta!

Murthy attends a friend's wedding where he first lays eyes on Padma. He gradually falls in love with her, but fears how his father will react to the match. His early attempts to tell his father are thwarted by Appanna, a loyal supporter of Satyanarayana.

After his attraction grows, Satyanarayana learns that Padma is Lakshmipati's daughter. Murthy publicly stakes a wager that he can win her hand by earning Lakshmipati's acceptance. He leaves for the miser's village to begin his plan.

Murthy reaches Lakshmipati's village and meets Aragundu, the long-suffering bondservant. To get closer to Padma, he rents a room in Subba Rao's home and integrates as one of their own. He begins the ruse of a miser by pretending to be part of the All India Miser Community, guiding Lakshmipati through a string of money-saving schemes.

He fabricates a persona as the local head of the All India Miser Community and leads Lakshmipati into a series of money-saving schemes. He uses the guise to deter prospective suitors for Padma and to expose Lakshmati's greed. He also coaches Sundaram, Lakshmipati's son, who is in love with Subba Rao's sister Sita.

Subba Rao catches Sundaram and Sita together and hits Sita. Murthy intervenes, arguing that anger is misdirected and urging peace. He offers to pay the dowry for Sita and Sundaram's wedding on Subba Rao's behalf, hoping to resolve the conflict and advance Padma's match.

Satyanarayana arrives in disguise, posing as a businessman, and tries to sabotage Murthy's progress with Lakshmipati. Murthy refuses to give up and continues pursuing Padma, even as Lakshmipati's resistance cools only gradually. The tension escalates as the wedding nears.

Aragundu, tired of Lakshmipati's antics, resigns from his position and joins Murthy's side. They recruit Kukkuteswarao, an earlier suitor, to offer reverse dowry for Padma, turning the tables on Lakshmati's bargaining power. The alliance strengthens Murthy's position and unsettles the miser further.

Subba Rao's transport company goes on strike, driving buses through the village and creating a public nuisance. The disruption inadvertently clears space for the wedding arrangements and allows Murthy's supporters to gain momentum. Murthy and Aragundu use the moment to rally Padma's case.

Four suitors arrive with escalating reverse dowries, and Lakshmipati agrees to each offer in turn. Padma remains firm in her desire to marry Murthy, not any of the other suitors. The spectacle exposes Lakshmati's greed to all present.

Padma confronts Lakshmipati about treating her as a commodity. Lakshmipati's wife hints at suicide to force him to see the stakes, even offering to sell their bodies to science to illustrate greed's cost. Realizing his error, Lakshmipati finally decides to let Padma marry Murthy.

The gathered suitors and Lakshmipati declare Murthy the rightful match and vote for him to marry Padma. Satyanarayana arrives and concedes defeat, revealing his relationship with Murthy and accepting the outcome. Lakshmipati offers to pay for refreshments, signaling a new harmony in the clan.

In the epilogue, Lakshmipati dies peacefully after donating his wealth to charity. Murthy and Padma have a son, who unexpectedly inherits his grandfather's miserly tendencies. The final note contrasts charity with greed and sets up a light moral.
