Aghathiyaa

Aghathiyan, an aspiring art director, invests his savings into his first project by renting a charming French bungalow in Puducherry. The bungalow is rented by Royan and his grandmother Helen, setting the stage for the story's unfolding events. However, the film shoot is abruptly abandoned, plunging Aghathiyan into distress and causing him to return to his hometown, Tiruvannamalai.

Back in Tiruvannamalai, Aghathiyan deals with his mother Anjalai's failing health due to bone cancer and her memory loss from chemotherapy. Amidst his personal struggles, Veena, childhood friend and love interest, proposes transforming the bungalow into a haunted attraction to help his financial situation.

Aghathiyan and Veena work together to set up the haunted house attraction within the bungalow, which quickly gains popularity. During renovation, they discover an 18th-century antique piano, hinting at the bungalow's historical significance and subsequent mysterious past.

While restoring the piano, they uncover a skeletal corpse and an 8mm film roll box buried within the bungalow. Playing the film reveals the story of Siddharthan, a 1940s Siddha doctor, offering clues about the property's dark history.

The film depicts Siddharthan’s journey from France to Pondicherry and his treatment of Jacqueline Poovizhi, Edwin Duplex’s paralysed sister. The footage exposes Edwin's tyranny, including his brutalization of Indians and the murder of Siddharthan, fueling their curiosity and concern.

Strange supernatural events begin occurring within the bungalow, including the disappearance of a visitor linked to political figures. Veena experiences possession and attacks the visitor when she is overtaken by the spirit of Jacqueline Poovizhi.

Aghathiyan retrieves Siddharthan's diary from Veena’s possession, which reveals secrets about Edwin's treacherous actions. The malevolent spirit of Edwin then forcibly drives Aghathiyan and Veena out of the bungalow, intensifying the supernatural conflict.

Concerned about his mother's health, Aghathiyan learns of Siddha medicine and the story of Kannadi Siththar, suggesting alternate treatments. He also receives a photograph of a vanished figure, hinting at deeper mysteries related to his past and family history.

Through secret clues, Aghathiyan uncovers that Edwin murdered Siddharthan and others to steal medical formulas. Edwin hid his grave with the formulas, planning to achieve eternal life. The villagers' attack led to Edwin's death in the grave, which is now the key to restoring balance.

During a celestial alignment of planets, mystical energies weaken Edwin's evil forces. Seizing this moment, Aghathiyan, Veena, and Shankar enter the bungalow to retrieve the medicinal formulas and attempt to destroy Edwin's remains to end his malevolent influence.

As Edwin's spirit attacks, Siddharthan's spirit appears to aid Aghathiyan. The combined spiritual forces reveal Aghathiyan's reincarnation as Nanjilan, enabling the spirits of Siddharthan and Jacqueline to unite and vanquish Edwin’s evil spirit, restoring peace to the bungalow.

With the dark energies dispelled, the spirits ascend, and Aghathiyan’s mother begins to recover with Siddha medicines derived from Siddharthan's formulas. Although her memory may not fully return, Aghathiyan remains hopeful, having resolved the supernatural and personal mysteries.
