After a solar flare wipes out modern technology, Europe has fallen into the grip of ruthless warlords. Jake, a former soldier turned “world’s greatest treasure hunter,” is hired by the self‑styled king August to retrieve the world’s most famous painting. He flies to a ruined France, teams up with the enigmatic rebel Drea, and takes refuge in a battered church where the eccentric priest Father Samson hands them a bullet‑proof off‑road truck and a map to a secret vault.

Inside the vault the pair discover that the “Mona Lisa” is not a canvas at all but a nuclear weapon disguised with the famous portrait. Drea explains that the United States had a third atomic bomb, the one intended for Moscow, and she carries the safety plug needed to arm it. Their hope of handing the prize over to August is shattered when Volkov, the brutal warlord who controls most of France, arrives with a convoy and wipes out the rebels who had been trying to secure the device.

Jake cannot simply walk away. He returns to the vault, grabs a handful of explosives, and devises a desperate plan: blow up the bridge that the enemy train must cross, then board the moving locomotive and take Volkov down. While Drea plants the charges, Jake leaps onto the train, fights Volkov’s right‑hand man, and finally stabs the warlord’s hands to the railcar’s console. The bridge collapses seconds later, sending Volkov’s train careening into a ditch. Jake escapes with the safety plug, ensuring the bomb can never be detonated.

The film closes with Jake delivering the plug to August and warning him of the bomb’s location, hoping the new ruler will not repeat the same mad ambition. In the final moments, Jake and Drea are shown drifting toward a sun‑lit horizon on a modest boat, a quiet promise of a fresh start—whether real or merely a dream of the weary survivor is left to the viewer’s imagination.
