In a bustling town square in Belgium, young reporter Tintin spots a miniature pirate ship named 'The Unicorn' for sale. He decides to buy it for a mere pound, unaware that it will attract unwanted attention from mysterious figures shortly after.

After his purchase, Tintin is approached by a large man with a mustache who offers to buy the ship for double the price. The man warns Tintin of impending danger, prompting him to flee as he suddenly realizes he's being followed.

Back at home, Tintin's curiosity leads him to inspect the model ship. While doing so, his dog Snowy inadvertently breaks the ship, revealing a small metal cylinder that rolls unnoticed under the table, foreshadowing deeper mysteries.

Tintin visits the maritime museum’s library, where he uncovers the ship’s dark secret—it was rumored to carry mysterious cargo associated with a cursed bloodline. This revelation fuels his determination to solve the mystery behind the Unicorn.
