Animuthu discovered that Thamil and Poongothai were planning to elope with the gold coins. After discovering the Chola dynasty gold coins, Harichandran was stabbed and left injured. Thamil found him bloodied and unconscious, mistakenly believing he was dead. Harichandran was taken to a hospital where he survived but developed amnesia, forgetting everything about the treasure and the attack. He later regained his memory.

The fight over the coins between Harichandran, Thamil, and Animuthu hints at the violence that would follow.

Before the fake archaeology officers took the treasure, Thamil secretly replaced the real gold coins with a pot filled with stones. When Animuthu later rode on a motorcycle with the 'treasure', the coins fell out after hitting a pothole, revealing that Thamil had already swapped them. This explains why Animuthu was surprisingly happy when the coins went missing.

Thamil is portrayed as clever throughout the movie, often outsmarting the adults around him.

The government announced a sanitation scheme offering Rs. 12,000 to villagers who built toilets. Instead of actually building one, Animuthu photographed a fake toilet next to Govindan's real toilet and submitted the photo. He received the money but spent it all on food. When Govindan threatened to report him, Animuthu was forced to build an actual toilet within five days.

Animuthu's lazy nature and his daily routine of cooking, sleeping, and eating establish his character as someone who takes shortcuts.

Poongothai's friend Aarayi spread false gossip claiming that Thamil and Poongothai were seen hugging and kissing intimately. This rumor reached Poongothai's mother, who then confronted Animuthu and their neighbor Govindan, demanding they stay away from her daughter and stop interfering in her affairs.

The romantic tension between Thamil and Poongothai was already visible when Thamil first visited her shop to buy cigarettes.

The Archaeology department officers arrived and claimed the gold coins belonged to the government, seizing the treasure. However, it was revealed that these officers were impostors trying to steal the coins. While chaos ensued, Thamil had already switched the real coins with stones. The coins fell from the motorcycle during the chase, allowing the villagers to recover their treasure despite the confusion.

The sudden arrival of officials and the villagers' desperation to keep the treasure sets up the twist of the fake officers.

Harichandran lost his memory after being stabbed and injured during the conflict over the gold coins. When he was found unconscious and bloodied by Thamil, he was taken to a hospital. The head injury from the stabbing resulted in amnesia, making him forget everything about the treasure and the attack until his memory was later restored.
