Rajnesh Mathur Rajnesh Mathur is a wealthy, respected businessman who presides over a household with two very different daughters. The elder, Roma Mathur, is ambitious, outspoken, and accustomed to getting her way, while the younger, Reema Mathur, is quieter, self-effacing, and content to stay in the shadows as her sister shines. As the family dynamics unfold, Reema quietly nurses a crush on a man she meets by chance at a bookstore: the successful author Ravi Saxena. Unbeknownst to her, Ravi’s attention shifts when he meets Roma at an art gallery, and he is instantly drawn to her vivacious presence.
What begins as a lighthearted courtship blooms into something more serious, and Ravi proposes marriage to Roma. The family is initially pleased, though Rajnesh senses a potential conflict, knowing about Reema’s unspoken feelings for Ravi. Reema, ever the gracious sister, quietly suppresses her own emotions and stands by Roma as the engagement moves forward. Meanwhile, Roma’s career arc begins to tilt toward modeling, and this new path introduces a subtle but growing tension into the couple’s relationship. Ravi disapproves of Roma pursuing a public-front career, but she pursues it in secret anyway.
As their wedding draws near, the strain tightens. Roma’s modeling commitments pull her time away, and Ravi finds himself feeling increasingly sidelined. On the eve of the ceremony, Roma receives a film offer that could amplify her fame, and she abruptly leaves, leaving behind only a letter that hints at unresolved desires and a longing for something more than marriage.
The revelation jolts the family. Ravi, disillusioned by the sudden rupture, contemplates a new future and asks Reema to marry him, recognizing her steadfast, quiet support as a stabilizing force. Reema agrees, and they begin their marriage as a friendship that gradually deepens into genuine love. Yet the household can’t escape Roma’s shadow. She returns unexpectedly, accuses Reema of betrayal, and makes a renewed play for Ravi, only to be met with a firm denial. In a dramatic bid for sympathy, Roma stages a suicide attempt, further complicating matters and forcing Ravi to divert his energy toward her alleged recovery. Reema finds herself emotionally isolated as she watches Roma’s influence erode the calm they had built.
Romantic tension peaks as Roma’s advances grow harder to resist, and a crucial confrontation forces Reema to demand clarity. Ravi’s silence leaves her convinced that he still harbors some feeling for Roma, prompting her to consider leaving. A tense car ride ends with Roma leaping from the moving vehicle, and Ravi escorts Reema to a secluded cottage to lay bare the truth. There, Ravi reveals a painful truth: Roma’s suicide attempts were staged, and his supposed affection for her was a deliberate front to reveal her true intentions. He reaffirms his love for Reema and reminds her that true beauty resides within.
Confronted by the truth, Roma breaks down and offers a genuine apology, choosing reconciliation with Reema. The film closes with Ravi and Reema renewing their vows, and Roma being welcomed back into the family by their father, who acknowledges the complicated, fraught path they’ve navigated together. This ending suggests forgiveness, self-awareness, and a renewed sense of family unity, even as the emotional landscape of each character remains richly textured.
