A Wrinkle in Time

Thirteen-year-old Meg Murry faces immense challenges balancing her school and family life. Ever since her father Alex mysteriously disappeared, she feels isolated and lost, hindering her ability to cope with day-to-day activities.

One night, Meg's younger brother Charles Wallace invites a strange visitor named Mrs. Whatsit into their home. Wearing a large white dress, she hints at the existence of the Tesseract, a concept related to her father's work, before abruptly leaving.

The next day, Meg's classmate Calvin O'Keefe joins her and Charles Wallace for a visit to another mysterious woman, Mrs. Who. She speaks in quotes, adding to the enigma surrounding their quest to find Meg's father.

In the backyard, the trio encounters Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, who reveal their true identities as astral travelers. They inform the children that they have heard a human distress call and that Meg's father is in potential danger in another part of the universe.

The three women guide Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace through a Tesseract, transporting them to the enchanting planet of Uriel. This journey opens their eyes to the vastness of the universe and the potential danger threatening Meg's father.

As they explore Uriel's atmosphere, they come face to face with a dark shadow known as The IT. Mrs. Which warns them that it is a malevolent entity that has captured Meg's father and seeks to spread its influence across the universe.

The children then travel to meet a seer named the Happy Medium, who reveals that Meg's father is imprisoned on a planet called Camazotz. The seer's insight helps them grasp the magnitude of the threat posed by The IT.

Initially planning to regroup on Earth, Meg's strong desire to rescue her father causes an accidental mishap with the Tesseract. Instead of returning home, the children are transported directly to Camazotz.

Upon arriving on Camazotz, the three Astral travelers must depart, leaving Meg with significant gifts. These include Mrs. Who's glasses, which will help her see the truth, and pivotal knowledge about her personal strengths and weaknesses.

The trio encounters Red, the IT's bodyguard, on a crowded beach who deceptively offers them food and reassures them about Alex's well-being. However, the children quickly sense something is off when they discover the food tastes like sand.

Using a rhythmic repetition of times tables, Red hypnotizes Charles Wallace, allowing The IT to take control of his mind. This moment raises alarms for Meg and Calvin as they realize they must act quickly to save him.

Meg, using Mrs. Who's glasses, discovers the staircase that leads to the hidden room where her father is imprisoned. Their reunion is brief, but it strengthens Meg's resolve as they all confront the looming threat of The IT.

The IT's overwhelming power begins to unravel the trio's will as they come face to face with it. Meg's father prepares to leave with them, but Meg chooses to confront her corrupted brother instead of abandoning him.

In a climactic moment, Meg realizes that love is the antidote to The IT's manipulation. Using her love for Charles Wallace, she breaks his trance and overcomes The IT's vast malevolence, freeing both her brother and the planet.

Having triumphed over evil, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin return home with their father. Their family reunites joyously, symbolizing the restoration of their bonds, while Calvin prepares to confront his own familial issues.
