A Snow White Christmas (2018) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

The Wicked Queen was trapped in a block of ice near her abandoned castle. She had been standing frozen there in suspended time, likely as a consequence of her previous defeat. A large block of ice melted, releasing her and allowing her to move again.

The ice surrounding the Wicked Queen melted naturally, freeing her from her frozen state. This melt occurred shortly after Snow White and her family began planning the Christmas festival, allowing the Queen to return to her castle and discover that two Snow Whites now lived in the land.

The Magic Mirror revealed to the Queen that two Snow Whites were now more beautiful than her. This discovery fueled her extreme jealousy and fury, causing her to vow to crush them both and seize back her throne. Her vanity and need to be the fairest made her target both the original Snow White and her daughter.

The giants revealed they are cousins of the Seven Dwarfs, making them naturally sympathetic to Snow White's plight. When Finicky and Corny initially mistook Snow White and Grunyon for bugs, Snow White's tears softened the moment, and Grunyon defended her. Moved by their story and compassion, the giants offered shelter and chose to defend her against the Wicked Queen.

The Wicked Queen's schemes consistently failed because the giants intervened at key moments. Brawny saved Snow White from drowning when the Queen melted the ice to create a flood. The giants also detected her disguise as an elderly woman and rushed back to protect her. Even the Queen's lightning and demon summons were overcome by the giants' strength, ultimately leading to her castle's collapse.

The castle collapsed during the final confrontation when Hicker, one of the giants, let out a powerful hiccup that triggered an earthquake. This earthquake shook the entire realm and caused the already unstable castle to crumble. The Queen's magic was unable to withstand this natural disaster, leading to the destruction of both the castle and the Magic Mirror.

The Magic Mirror was the source of the Wicked Queen's power. When the castle collapsed and the mirror shattered, the Queen lost her magical foundation and literally dissolved and was erased from the story. With her power source destroyed, she could no longer sustain herself, ending her threat permanently.

The Wicked Queen disguised herself as an elderly woman who claimed to be the giants' sister. She used the scent of a poisoned flower to lull Snow White into a deep sleep, mirroring her earlier trick with the poisoned apple against the first Snow White. This caused Snow White to appear dead, just like the original fairy tale.

Foreshadowing: The Queen's trick mirrors her original attack on Snow White with a poisoned apple.

The ice curse was directly tied to the Wicked Queen's magic. When the Magic Mirror shattered and the Queen was erased, the curse she had placed on Noel broke automatically. This caused the ice statues to thaw just in time for Christmas Eve, releasing the frozen townspeople and restoring the kingdom.

Grunyon was spared from the worst of the freeze because he was a dwarf with magical resilience, similar to how the original Seven Dwarfs survived various threats. This allowed him to lead Snow White to safety in the forest and eventually to the Warm Valley where they found the giants.

The Queen transformed two vultures into monstrous distractions to keep Hicker, the giant positioned as guard, away from Snow White. While Hicker was distracted by the vulture monsters, the Queen approached Snow White with her poisoned flower disguise. This was part of her strategy to separate the giants and get close enough to use the poison.

The Wicked Queen's fortress was left in ruins following the earthquake that caused its collapse. However, Grunyon and the giants revealed they had built a new castle for the children while Snow White was asleep. This new castle was intended to be a safer home where the magic of their shared winter could live on.
