A Mystery on the Cattle Hill Express

The land around Clara's father, Biff, has become sterile, and the family must confront a struggling farm that can’t seem to bounce back. Desperate for a solution, Biff accepts his neighbor Paulina’s invitation, and the two set off to meet at Cattle Hill Station in the morning. There, a special Express train run by Albert, Jon Øigarden, a pig friend of Paulina, carries them on a journey where they’re shown a remarkable electronic seed that promises to solve the fertility problem of any soil. The prospect is thrilling, and for a moment the group feels hopeful about reviving the land without resorting to drastic measures.

Yet the night aboard the train takes a dark turn when the seed disappears during dinner. In a flurry of tension, Albert makes a call to the famous detective Agatha Chichester, Henriette Marø who is picked up at the next station. The mood quickly shifts from relief to accusation as Clara’s father finds himself blamed for the theft; he lacks a solid alibi, and his fingerprint is found on the glass display case that housed the seed. The situation grows more complicated as suspicion circles closer, threatening to ruin the man who only wants to protect his family’s livelihood.

As the stakes rise, Clara and Gaute, Mats Eldøen, step forward with doubts about the seed’s true purpose. They begin to uncover troubling patterns: Albert has been exploiting the seed’s long-term effects to undermine numerous farms. With growing resolve, they bring their concerns to Agatha, hoping she’ll see the truth. But in a startling turn, they learn that Agatha herself may be implicated in the scheme, and the chase takes a tense twist as she reveals a motive rooted in revenge against Albert for wrecking her own family.

The pursuit churns into chaos when the train derails, and Agatha makes a dramatic escape. With the trail cold, the group returns to Cattle Hill, where a patient rest for the soil has allowed it to regain its fertility naturally. In the end, they decide to abandon the reliance on new technology and instead commit to working the land together at Cattle Hill, choosing a future rooted in care for the soil and community rather than quick fixes.
