The Adventures of Pinocchio

Geppetto carves Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who unexpectedly comes to life. The townspeople react with wonder and fear, and Geppetto is arrested after an attempt to discipline the unruly puppet. This moment marks the beginning of Pinocchio's tumultuous journey.

A talking cricket arrives and begins lecturing Pinocchio on morality and proper behavior. His admonitions feel like an imposing rulebook to the eager puppet, who resents the constant nagging.

In a moment of frustration, Pinocchio strikes the cricket with a hammer, killing him. His act leaves him hungry and frightened, realizing the gravity of his choices.

Geppetto is released the next day and forgives Pinocchio, choosing forgiveness over anger. He repairs Pinocchio's feet and clothes, restoring a sense of family and hope.

Pinocchio vows to become a model son and attend school. To support this dream, Geppetto sacrifices his own coat to buy a spelling book, showing his devotion.

On the way to school, Pinocchio is drawn into a puppet theatre where the onstage puppets recognize him as kin. The revelation disrupts the performance and angers Mangiafuoco, who looms as a potential threat.

Moved by Pinocchio's pleas and his willingness to sacrifice for another puppet, Mangiafuoco decides to release him. He gives five gold pieces to Geppetto, altering Pinocchio's course for the moment.

The fox and cat entice Pinocchio with promises of wealth from the Field of Miracles and lead him to an inn before directing him to the field at dawn. The cricket's ghost urges him to return home.

Pinocchio is tested by the blue-haired fairy; the fox and cat hang him from a tree. Moved by his plight, the fairy frees him and invites Geppetto to join them.

Pinocchio buries the coins, but the fox and cat steal the pretend fortune. A parrot mocks Pinocchio's gullibility, and with each setback he grows wiser.

Pinocchio seeks the fairy's mercy but discovers her tombstone instead, a stark reminder of fragile hope. A giant dove carries him to the sea, where Geppetto searches amid a raging storm as their bond is tested.

The pair are washed ashore on the Island of Busy Bees, where the fairy reappears and Pinocchio resumes his schooling. He also faces pursuit by Alidoro, a police bulldog, and begins to show progress.

Pinocchio and his friend Lucignolo are lured into Toyland, a realm of endless play where work vanishes. They are transformed into donkeys; Lucignolo is sold to a farmer while Pinocchio is sold to a circus, where an accident maims him and a drum-maker drowns him.

The fairy revives Pinocchio, who is later swallowed by a great sea monster along with Geppetto. They escape when Geppetto summons courage to free Pinocchio, emerging stronger.

They find shelter in a cottage cared for by the revived talking cricket. Pinocchio helps Geppetto by weaving baskets and caring for Lucignolo, laying the groundwork for stability. In a final miracle, Pinocchio wakes as a real boy in a grand house with Geppetto by his side.
