22 Jump Street

Following their success in the 21 Jump Street program, Schmidt and Jenko find themselves back on patrol seeking narcotics. Their first mission takes a turn for the worse when they fail to apprehend a group of drug dealers led by the mysterious Ghost.

Due to their failure, Deputy Chief Hardy reassigns Schmidt and Jenko to a new program, 22 Jump Street. Under the command of Captain Dickson, they are tasked with going undercover as college students to uncover the source of a new drug known as 'WHYPHY'.

Schmidt and Jenko arrive on campus, trying to blend in as typical college students. Jenko quickly makes friends with the jock crowd, while Schmidt awkwardly tries to connect with fellow students.

While on campus, Schmidt catches the eye of Maya, an art student, by pretending to admire slam poetry. Their chemistry grows, but complications arise when Schmidt learns that Maya is Captain Dickson's daughter, leading to conflict and awkwardness.

Jenko solidifies his place in the jock social circle, especially with Zook and Rooster, a situation that complicates Schmidt's feelings of sidelining. As Jenko grows closer to them, Schmidt worries it might interfere with their mission.

In a desperate bid for leads, Schmidt and Jenko visit Mr. Walters and Eric in jail. They receive a crucial tip regarding a distinctive tattoo on the dealer that could help them identify Ghost and the drug's source.

While socializing with the jocks, Jenko notices a tattoo matching their clue on Zook's arm. This discovery raises tension between Schmidt and Jenko as distrust grows over Zook's potential involvement in their drug case.

During a counseling session, the duo reevaluate the evidence and come to a new conclusion. They identify Cynthia, the drug supplier responsible for the WHYPHY, who was known to check out library books used to transport drugs.

Determined to catch Ghost, Schmidt and Jenko conduct a stakeout at the library. Despite their best efforts, the elusive Ghost escapes once again, thwarting their investigation for the time being.

While trying to maintain their undercover identities, Schmidt's secret is revealed, leading to his dismissal from college. This revelation forces the duo to regroup and plot their next move as tensions flare.

With a vengeance in mind, Schmidt decides to pursue Ghost alone during Spring Break. He is soon joined by Jenko, who insists on supporting his partner in one last operation together, solidifying their bond.

The investigation leads Schmidt and Jenko to a bar where they confront Mercedes, Ghost's daughter. With a plan in motion, they set up an ambush for the drug dealers operating under her orders, escalating the tension.

The climax culminates in an intense confrontation with Ghost. Following an explosive chase, Schmidt and Jenko successfully bring him down, concluding their long pursuit of the drug ring with an energetic finale.

After taking down Ghost, Schmidt and Jenko reconcile and reflect on their futures. Captain Dickson proposes yet another undercover mission, this time at a medical school, hinting at more adventures to come.
